banjo arrangement for crowded house song

Hi looking for a bit of musical advice. I'm thinking about re-arranging a riff from the Crowded House tune 'Pineapple Head' from guitar to banjo, but I don't play banjo. (I just think it might sound good) Someone in this conversation http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/F52166?thread=2336866&post=26911734#p26911734 said you might be able to help. I don't know the song and ain't *that* great with a banjo but I like a challenge! If I can find a copy to listen to (internet tabs can be somewhat random) I'll have a go.

ta. Would be grateful for another opinion, as after much head scratching, taking notes, working out the proper guitar tuning (the song uses a capo) and banjo tuning, have come to the conclusion that the tab for banjo is exactly the same, except played without a capo!

That's weird - the strings are different. I'm too drunk to be of any use right now, and haven't found a copy of the song (though you could email a copy to roymondoh2g2 at googlemail dot com, if you like!)

I would, but last time I sent a song from media player through the net, the person at the other end couldn't open it.
When you say the strings are different, someone in the conversation told me they went like this:
G
D
G
B
D (lowest)
is that right, or have I read it the wrong way round, cos if you play guitar with capo on 3rd fret-the top strings should also theoretically be D and G, yes?
I've got it the wrong way round, haven't I?
whoops.
