In the last couple of weeks I've unsubbed from several 'Ask' conversations, and just now I've unsubbed from a thread about the 'resurrection' of 'Jesus' (same old stuff, same old heads knocking together) and the smoking ban (my blood was rising so I thought it better to unsub than point out how intensely patronising someone's post was.)
The Dr Who 'spoiler' thing still angers me, mainly because I was enjoying being in the thread until the rules were changed.
I know this is all trivial, but I left The Playground (sorry, The Forum) a few months back to avoid the self righteous head banging and sniping, and now find that it's creeping back into 'Ask'. I've been making a concious effort to only ask questions in 'Ask' when I need an answer: if I'm after a chat about something I'll post it in 'Miscellaneous Chat', which seems the obvious way of doing things.
None of this would be a problem if it weren't keeping me away from the site, but unfortunately it *is* keeping me away from the site. I've a bunch of unfinished entries but am finding the motivation to finish them is slipping away everytime I come back here.
Anyway, this is nothing more than a rant from a chap who's in a funny place at the moment, so you'd best ignore it. I'm just a bit riled by it all and wanted to get it off my chest...
...again.

I unsubscribe from those threads the moment they pop up in my conversation list. (Anything having 'jesus' or 'religion' in the title, that is). Don't let it drive you away, there are still lost of interesting threads where people can make perfect fools of themselves as I did earlier.
Btw, have you checked your email yet? Trust me to send you one the day you were off to Glasto and only remembering later.

Aha! Just found it (I managed to get 146 emails while I was away, none of them spam!) I'll get back to you about that: I'm unable to do much at the moment as CUP started decorating my room while I was away so the place is a nightmare of tripping hazards and misplaced bits and bobs.

The Jesus thread just turned silly. Maybe with a concerted effort we could reduce it to an appropriate level of silliness?

You should try reorganising the lounge when you have a four-year-old knocking about.
'Why are you putting that in the paper recycling, mum?'
'What's this doing in the bin?'

Much as I'd love to participate I find the whole thing too disheartening. Besides, I might make the mistake of saying what I think, which wouldn't be wise, and would be largely superfluous as SoRB usually expresses my views on such matters in a way I haven't the nadgers to/am too polite to.
To be honest I think I'm just slap bang in the middle of a post-Glasto come down combined with pre-moving, er, unsetteledness? unsetteledment? unsettleditude? unsettledificationalism?

At the moment I'd like to know where my bin is!

That was wheely bad, but quite coincidental, for when I have found my bin I will be loading my bin, thus making my bin laden.

Quick - phone the CIA. They'll rust round and take it out for you.

I'm a bit stresses at the moment though as I can't find the WOMAD tickets.

MMF, you were spot on in the pub a while back. I've got to avoid things coming to a head when I move. Hopefully a fresh start will sort things out.
