Whilst lurking the other night I came across a post in someone's journal that said something along the lines of:

'You can't post in that thread because it's an unfinished book, but you can apply to join the club'.

That's a harsh summation and the message was very polite but still, what on earth is that all about? Can't post somewhere on HooToo? Crivvens.

This is HooToo: we should all be able to post anywhere we choose (with the exception of the volunteer groups, for very good reasons). If you've got a club/game/society going on and you don't want people joining in take it offsite!

All UK researchers pay for this place. To say they can't post in part of it is disgusting.

I've just lurked the place in question and can see why people enjoy being there (it's rather interesting) and why intrusion would be problematic. I understand. But if they want to have an exclusive society/club/game/group it should be off site.

I think I said it all in the first post. I don't think HooToo should have exclusive clubs/groups/games. The edited guide is why we're here, the community is both a result of it and the fire underneath it. The community shouldn't have exclusive cliques.

Possibly. We all get that though. It's the way of this 'ere internet thing.

I think the primary thig with your posts is that you don't make a great deal of sense, so nobody really knows how to reply to you. And yes, conversations can move on pretty quickly but I get left behind too! That's why I slap in so many one-liners: they're quick.

I tend to post when Im pished don't remember doing it the next day till I cheque whats happened then Ie now I try to correct things but dont really want to be here just want to see what its like back home so go back to r2

I've had plenty of 'Oh my god, I didn't!' moments on HooToo which are also down to booze. At least you don't have to meet these people!

I should point out that by 'have to meet these people' I mean 'show yourself in public'. I've some seriously nice people through HooToo.
