You've already found out the essentials of h2g2, ie: it's great
However, the 'German' aspect is still on the Editors' list of things to do because there *was* a time when all languages of this world were allowed. But when the BBC took over, this was abandoned and is yet to be re-installed within the moderation system. Peta (one of the Italics -- their names show up like that in the postings around here) is still working at it but apparently didn't get too far yet. That's also why the GMC is a somewhat forlorn place 
. BTW, the same is true for Welsh as a non-English language. Anyway, there's enough to read in the English subset of the Guide for the meantime. Have fun 
As to the Danish meet and the Munich mini-meet (Hell and Bossel) of today, the short answer is: they were *great*
The Danish meet was some 1100km away, but the average taken over both of them is 550.2km, precisely. I can only recommend (er... make that 'urge') everybody to look out for the next meet in their respective hemisphere of the planet. Or better, *arrange* one!
