(entry for 1st Nov)
Please wait for me, dear Lady November. I wish to share with you the absurd yet hopeful fragments of my life, every single day, unless you pay me to go away. I accept PayPal, Visa
and the November Pound.
We used to live in Totnes in Devon, England, they have their own money there, The Totnes Pound. I think it works like real money, but does it work in carpark machines and swimming pool lockers? I never did find out, because the local coins somehow avoided me. Or did I avoid them? I am poor in spirit, and must return to make amends.
I digress, back to grovelling to you, dear Lady November.
I wrote to you these words at 2.35 am, on the borderline of November 1st and 2nd. I wanted to tell you about jazz chords.
I have this book, see, called All The Jazz Chords You'll Ever Need. I've it for years, but never opened it, which explains why I can't play jazz piano.
And yet I love chords, they are pictures to me, and I'm going to open the book and play a chord on my electric piano for every single day of your thirty blessed days.
And tell you about it.
Except not day one, I've missed it, , it's the middle of the night, you'll have to wait till tomorrow.

OK back on track. Can I do all my journals in the one thread?
Good morning Lady November, here we are on the second day.
Herewith the promised jazz chords, oh lucky you.
A flat minor 7th with flattened 5th. What??
Ah yes, now this sounds like curious copper silver mathematical equations, that I don't understand, spinning beautifully through a mournful mist, with a metallic twist of sharp yearning as they disappear into the electric echoes of the piano.
I do love a musical picture.
. Also sounds like the sort of menu I might avoid. .
A flat minor 7th, with flattened 5th, a twist of lemon, and a hint of Autumnal melancholy. With jacket wedges or salad.
All Souls Day today. Traditionally a day to remember the souls of the departed, especially relatives. I thought about my recently departed parents, and then I thought all the souls of all the departed, and the patterns and imprints we leave behind.
And my tears mixed with the cathedral bell sounds as I wandered through the dawnlit Sunday streets.

By the way, I meant to say, there's really no pressure to add comment here to this journal. November is a long month, and there's a bunch of amazing journals out there to read, and I'll be reading some of them myself also.
It's enough just to be allowed the space to play my jazz here in the cactus jazz cafe, my hymn to Lady November, and watch my chords spinning through the midnight mist.
What you could do, if you feel so inclined, is drop me off some chocolate every ten days, in the form of a teapot or , or even a chocolate piano.

I like Lady November. She would be a Pre-Raphaelite lady, walking through a misty woodland in a dress the colour of copper beech leaves.
I'm not sure about 'curious copper silver mathematical equations' - those might make my

haha thanks folks .
Was it the Mexican Day of the Dead, yesterday? I should know that. hmm. I have a book about it, with all the amazing Mexican artwork, painted skulls and things.
Ah yes Lady November. That's lovely, mvp. You know what? I was was thinking last night I wish I could write a poem about her, like mvp could, and presto! there you have the image, it's beautiful.
mvp, I'm sorry I ruined the inbox listings, doubled up with yours, I forgot to identify my journal heading. I see you've started a new named one.
Should I do that also? I'll decide later, when I am lured to the piano for today's entry.
I think this will get less confusing as November turns to December. .
Loving it though.

hey Prof, Ah yes, those great rock power chords, that surge of energy, with an echo that crashes and rumbles into Eternity, and makes me want to ride out on a Harley, even though I'm scared of motorbikes, I ride a three speed push bike haha, and I'm wearing the cooolest leather jacket ever seen, with a skull and rose embroidered on the back, well, I would be, if I was on that Harley, with those power chords in my head.
what? That was all one sentence. Take a breath, kid, or faint, I say to myself. . Prof's power chords got me carried away there. .
OK, so I'm going to change threads for my Nov 3rd entry, just because I need to clarify my journal heading, for the purposes of inbox listings, as hootoo inboxes are crackling and sparkling with stars from the strange galaxy known as NaJoPoMo.

I quite fancy being a Hell's granny. Turning up on a big motorbike, dressed in leathers, scaring all the youngsters.
But it's not the same turning up on a pushbike

Oh, I don't know mvp! . Hell's Grannies on push bikes sounds cool to me. . Crossed knitting needles embroidered on our waterproof jackets. . Where's our first rally? In Brighton of course, like the Mods. . See you there kid.
