Human subjects in pictures

Hi,
Are humans allowed to be in pictures if it's not a close up photo? I wrote an entry on high school subcultures, and I thought I could take photos of a large group of different kids. Is it alright as long as I have permission and it's not close up?

hi
We have the following rules for pictures of people:
a) if you take a picture in a town or in a building and there happen to be people that's fine if they are not really recognizable or part of a crowd
b) close ups or pictures 'of a person' are fine if the person on the picture gives their ok and knows how the picture is used
c) children should not be recognizable on pictures (those who are too young to decide if they want it or not)
So this means if all the people on your picture give their ok it's absolutely fine. It's also fine if on the finished picture in the finished size (it will be cropped 300 x 400 pixels) the people will not be recognizable anymore.
I hope this helps?

The UK law is slightly more relaxed, but we like to keep to a reasonable set of guidelines that we'd be happy with if we were the subjects
