Well! Before I begin I would like to congratulate you on being a wonderful addition to The Language Thing.

On that subject, katkodl is taking time out so that she can finally finish her university thesis, which will mean we will be without a head of the German Department. Having seen your rather friendly and happy teaching, I was wondering if you would be willing to fill the position, either temporarily or permanently. You're already doing a good job in there, so it wouldn't change very much.

Basically you would need to continue teaching in the Beginners' thread (which I'm neglecting terribly!), keep the speaking thread going (not hard I'm sure) and keep the game running and when it tails off, start a new one. Oh and when we get new members I think katkodl has been leaving them a message at their PS welcoming them and asking if they have any questions...that sort of thing. Oh and of course if you stumble across anyone who is interested in learning foreign languages or speaks a foreign language then leave them a message asking if they might like to join.

That sounded more difficult than it actually is

OK, I'll just tell you what I think: I've got my exams too and they will last until the end of June, but I've certainly got less to do than katkodl. I'm nobody who can learn the whole day long, or very rarely do that and even if I should do it, I just can't.
When I work for uni I have to do most things on computer, so I keep hootoo open during that time (just like right now) and see whether anything is going on that concerns me.
Fact is: I can't help, I'm here anyhow.
And: The Language Thing is just great! Yes, it is.

So if you can cope with it when there really should be days when I just have no time to come, then I say: I'll do the job as good as I can.

So, that's what I think then. Now it's up to you, you've got to decide whether you really want me as head of the department.

Sounds good to me. Welcome aboard, if you have any questions then give me a yell. I'm sure you'll do well. We all have commitments in real life so nobody will mind if you aren't around on h2 for a while.
