ISn't there a kind of goat they use for the shaving brushes in the hats? They used to wear them in Bavaria. I thought it was called Gems.

oh, yes, the new writing in Austrian-German is Gämse, because in dialect they're called Gams. And the thing you mean is a Gamsbart, but theire not the beard, but the hair of the back.
The tyrolian Hats don't have them:

our prof said every farmer is sitting on an own mountain and they only come down on sundays to go to the two most important buildings (which always stand at a crossroads next to eachother): the church and the 'Wirtshaus'
