I'm ashamed to say that, so far, I haven't set my virtual foot in your lovely, if bizarre, space. And for that I regret deeply.
I never really got to know you, but after the discussion of the origin of your name, I felt obligated to come here, and see if I can find out who you are.
I can't.
Will you help me?
Elly

Elly,
I know ... my personal space could do with being a little more personal! I've been meaning to update it with details of the RL me and not simply my various incarnations here in this other world, but just haven't got round to it yet.
What do you want to know?
Or should I just surprise you!

Seriously ...
In RL I answer to a wide variety of different names, none of which has anything to do with my H2G2 incarnation. The name bestowed upon me by parents is Alex, to which I generally answer, although not exclusively and in the course of my 25 andabit years I've responded to more names than I could even begin to recall!
I currently live and work in the FMG (Filth, Muck and Goo) that is London, although home is really Scotland where I was born and bred and have every intention of returning to.
As brief intros go, they don't get much breiferer, but in light of your request, your Ladyship, I'll update my personal space so that it is a bit more personal!
a filled

When did I request that??
Sorry I vanished- my net connection won't have it any more, and it's totally right.
Well, Alex, you're actually almost my age! This is amazing! I'll be 24 in a month andabit... You're the first person I've met here of our narrow slice of age group, they're usually either much younger or much older...
Scottland, eh? Tell me about it...
A heat filled -

Better late than never!
Well Scotland, what can I say ... Winter = cold and wet, spring = windy and wet, summer = wet, autumn = wet and wet ... apart from that it's just loverly!
Seriously, when the weather is good (and I mean good in a cold as well as a hot way) it is one of the best places in the world. I live on a farm and on a summers day when all the leaves are on the trees, the fields are full of grass and the sun is shining you really can't beat it. It's quiet - but for the bleating of sheep/mooing of cows and the air is so clear you can see for miles. What's more, a river runs along the edge of the farm and it is just gorgeous in summer. The whole area is just rolling hills and woodland - heavenly!
In the winter, when the leaves are off the trees, it's cold yet sunny, again you can't beat it - if it snows it makes it even better. Even when it rains it has a certain mystery to it but that's probably the grin-and-bear-it side of my character shining through!!
When the weather's everyone threatens to leave, but as soon as it gets good, you realise why you stay ...
Apart from that, it's pretty run of the mill!

I wanna live there now!
So not only you're my age, you're a country boy... I'm a country girl! This place has no sheep, but cows we've got! In the winter there are beautyful storms in the sea, rain and some hale, in the summer- lots of sun and humidity. This is one of the most toured places in the country, unfortunately, so it's never quiet through the summer. I hate tourists!
As you've noticed- I didn't mention autumn nor spring, coz they both feel like summer and last about... 2 weeks.
I hate the smallness and crowdiness of this country, but after a descent storm, when the sea is clean and beautyful- it's all worth it! And in the summer- watching the amazing sunsets on 8pm, yeah- it's worth it too!

I am indeed a country boy - not good with cities but I figure (in the twisted words of Zazu from the Lion King) "the sooner I get to the city, the sooner I can leave"!
Do I take it from this that you've gone back home and were only here for a short stay?
Dear Ekki
Yael Smith Posted Jul 11, 2001
Yes, that's what you can take of it...
I really miss Mike by now, I thought it would fade away, but it's just getting worse. And London- I can only say I don't like the city at all... ANY city.
But having him there made it almost bareble.
Such is love, I guess...

It is, it is ...
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder ... it may be true but we'd all prefer it if we didn't have to do it.
How often do you guys see one another?
Dear Ekki
Yael Smith Posted Jul 11, 2001
We've only saw eachother just this once, those five days in London were our first meeting.
But either he'll get here soon, or I'll go there. So far it seems that he's coming here. Yay!!!

...
It always hurts most straight after the goodbyes ... I know, I've been there before. Admittedly the distance wasn't as big but it was still too far ... it always is, not there where you want them to be is too far - even if they're only in the room next door.
That's love for you ...
Dear Ekki
Yael Smith Posted Jul 11, 2001
Yeah. I know. And in our case it REALLY is too far.
And I think you need the even more- what's with QA? Do you know where she's vanished to?
Dear Ekki
Ek* this space intentionally left blank *ki Posted Jul 11, 2001
