TheWyldStallyn
Welcome to TheWyldStallyn's Space.
Welcome and thank you for checking out my little section of this website. Below is, anonymity permitting, a small amount of information about myself, including a my interests and the story behind the frankly excellent name.Who is TheWyldStallyn?
I am an eighteen year-old male from the West of Scotland, living roughly 20 miles away from Glasgow. I am currently taking a year out between high school and University, working bars and generally earning money so I can afford to travel in the Spring/Summer of this year. In September 2005 i start at Edinburgh University where I am studying politics. How Did The Name Happen?
A disappointingly simple story really! The name came from Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted Theodore Logan's fictitious rock band, "The Wyld Stallyns", from the films "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" and "...Bogus Journey". Hopefully this story explains the spelling better than mere dyslexia! My Interests
Music
Music is one of my major passions in life. I play a bit of guitar and I absolutely adore rock music. That said I am a complete snob when it comes to music, to such an extent that those who know me have often called me narrow minded with regards to my musical tastes. Which is probably fair given that I don't really have much time for crappy, bland and manufactured (although it's becoming a bit cliched to keep playing the "manufactured" card all the time) music made by talentless puppets. My real love is of bands like Aerosmith, AC/DC, Guns N' Roses and The Darkness although my favourite band in the world is Pearl Jam. Anyone not in possession of their debut album "Ten" should definately give it a look when they're next in a record shop.Video Games
This is kind of a secret vice of mine. Y'know, the kind of thing you never really tell the uninitiated for fear of dirty looks. I love Nintendo, I think they are the greatest designers of video games in the world. I guess they are on a par with Disney/Pixar for expertly being able to entertain all age groups bar adolescent boys, on account of them being too grown up for that kind of thing!Reading/Books
Although I guess that was kind of a given with the site! I love To Kill A Mockingbird and Catcher In The Rye, they are probably my two favourite "classic" books. I adore Join Me by Danny Wallace, it is such a funny and heart-warmingly good book, essentially all about what you can do when you're bored. I am currently reading Captain Correlli's Mandolin, which I think is pretty excellent and have enjoyed what I've read so far.Football
I am a long suffering supporter of Paisley club, St. Mirren. And what with being Scottish, there is no quality in the national team so I really do not get a chance to support a winning team. That said, when on the odd occasion when one of the two wins, it is that much sweeter than when it is a given that it will happen.Latest Messages
