h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Although they are providing me with stupidly cheap flights, helping me find my accommodation and generally being good, I HATE RYANAIR! And for one reason only. They want to make it as hard as possible for me to spend my money!

I don't mean that in a good way as in "Hey, they want to give me these flights for free, set me up in the Paris equivalent of the Ritz (which I think might actually be the Ritz, Paris - but i'm not sure) and give me all the spending money i want", no, I mean they don't accept Switch (Maestro or Cirrus, if you've got a funky chip and pin card) online. Sure they have the logo, without having any respect for what the logo means. The logo means "YOU CAN USE SWITCH", not "OOOH, PURDY!". Needless to say I am being delayed with the bookings.

Another thing that is buggering me about is the fact that the government's DVLA website is so horribly primitive that i cannot pay my car tax online! I need to do it, shudder, on the phone! Nothing ever seems to work when you want it to, especially the stuff you'd rather not have to do...I wander if the Government enjoy making the hateful task of giving them your money even more hateful. Anyway, I'd like to know what my car tax is paying for. It is certainly not going on improving the roads (i've lost 2 tires to the roads in the last 4-5 months!).

Another thing, I hate being so financially unstable. Minimum wage work is crap. You don't actually get any money for the work you do and you leave feeling angry! But the worrying thing is that after Uni, I'm not necessarily guarenteed a great job with what is essentially an arty degree. I struggle to think of many fields that a politics degree can be used in, and those that there are, are ultra-competetive, like journalism, or politics itself!

Anyway, I've got the adventures of Dave Gorman to keep me happy.
