Haiku: My Feeble Efforts

For some reason I decided to find out about haiku poetry here today. Here are the attempts I made, based on things that I saw in the afternoon.
Comfortable quilt -
Warm sunshine being enjoyed
By the little cat.
Little frog is still;
The long shadow has covered
Quiet garden pond.
Airplane overhead;
The clear blue sky is above
Returning to peace.

Flogged the old banger

Unexpectedly sold my battered, 12 year-old Volvo 340 this weekend for £130, proving that I was right not to accept the £50 I was effectively offered for it as a trade-in on my new car. Pleased with the result, although not so pleased that an acquaintance belatedly revealed that he is a car dealer and could have negotiated around another £1000 off the price of my new car than I ended up paying. Oh well, perhaps this will inspire me to write a guide entry on negotiating with car dealers...

I need a proper job!

Two months out of university, and I've been temping for the last 3 weeks. MS Excel has now lost the precious little charm it had: but what is the alternative?? Is there life after a psychology degree?

It's over!

Finished my exams, and have disgusted myself with my loss of form - chundered after 4 pints! Changed my h2g2 name to Brother Grã to reflect my meek lifestyle (I don't seem to be able to drink or pull, and I'm poor!)
