Unexpectedly sold my battered, 12 year-old Volvo 340 this weekend for £130, proving that I was right not to accept the £50 I was effectively offered for it as a trade-in on my new car. Pleased with the result, although not so pleased that an acquaintance belatedly revealed that he is a car dealer and could have negotiated around another £1000 off the price of my new car than I ended up paying. Oh well, perhaps this will inspire me to write a guide entry on negotiating with car dealers...
