2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Mar 2, 2012
With the traffic thing, I enjoy seeing each days fatal crash or disasterous lorry turning over/jack-knifing on the A14, even though I don't drive... Through the Cambridge evening news twitter account.... Luckily its been years since I actually had to use that suicidal bit of road... Recently I've mainly been talking about purple sticks, and blue sticks... haven't mentioned bacon in ages
The twitter homepage way of accessing twitter is very limiting and slow, I use a couple of applications, one on the PC and one on the mobile, though the latter seems to have self imploded and doesn't want to play anymore

Funny you should join Twitter almost the exact moment I left, Sho
I also left LinkedIn - they offered me way too much w*rk and on this very day I'm only 333 days away from retirement

Sho - employed again! Posted Mar 3, 2012
I am on Linkedin but I don't like it so I never look at it.
Twitter - well I'm still a bit "meh" about that, but I'll give it a chance for a while.
Why did you leave it?

I'm just making the observation that many social media - Facebook, Twitter, blogs etc - don't have immediately obvious "points", and many initial users claim that they "can't see the point of XYZ".
While here we are, on a site which is notoriously hard to define to non-users, but the lack of an obvious "point" or use, or aim, doesnt seem to have affected our longevity.

On top of being a social media like all the others it's a guide to life the universe and everything
Which other media can even begin to compare itself with h2g2?

Lanzababy - Guide Editor Posted Mar 3, 2012
At the moment, I am experimenting with twitter in an attempt to bring in more writers, and community members. But that's from the official Guide Account. I've not got my head around the Lanzababy one.

Today I have used Twitter to see what other people are saying about the Ireland-France rugby match, the finalists of Got To Dance, and Rory McIlroy's imminent world number 1 status. The immediacy, real-time, connect with anybody, is exactly what tweeting is about.
