OK - now I don't konw if I've done this before but I have definite views about degrees of attractiveness of men.
There are sexy ones: (possibly not much between the ears - you look at them and think of bed)
Nice-looking. Hmmm, for want of a better example - Hugh Grant.
Handsome. Perhaps suitable for someone older. Dignified. Oh dear, I've just been called for dinner, will have to be quick. Handsome is ...er... Prince William. Sorry, not old. But pleasant.
Attractive. this is a long list .
Good-looking. Sort of similar to handsome.
And so forth. They are all completely different categories of
Sorry - must dash. You lot have a bash. Do you agree? Do you have other categories?

The spin-off from SG-1; Stargate: Atlantis. To be honest, it sounds like a collection of all the worst cliches of a desperately flailing sci-fi franchise: hive-minds, shiny black alien ships, an enemy more terrible than ever before, and a faint whiff of unsavoury, eugenic predestination.
Still; that's on paper. We'll see how it goes.
The Dr Weir in the spin-off isn't the same Dr Weir though; this one's a brunette.

I'd forgotten it was a different actress.
TC: I'm just getting through the last seconds of my Oscars tape. I just can't get past how perfectly drop dead Johnny Depp is.
When my hormones stop fandangoing and tripping the light fantastic, I'll get back to you.

And not only did he look absolutely gorgeous but he was also so very sweet. Saying he only attended to thank people for the nomination and stuff. *swoon*
And yep, I have similar categories:
sexy - following your definition (that Latinamerican guy in Love...Actually
),
gorgeous - looks great, but there is something more (well, boy of course, who is also waving his hands around so adoringly when he talks),
handsome - objectively good looking, but yeah (Hugh Grant for me),
...
How was dinner, TC?

Oh, and I'm going to see the new Viggo Mortensen movie tomorrow. Actually, that would be today meaning I should be in bed by now. Oh well...

Dinner was OK - I cooked it myself, but got tied up on hootoo so nearly let it burn (salmon and spinach lasagne. You're not going to believe this, but I piled up the salmon, spinach and lasagne, all rock hard, poured loads of pureed tomatoes and leftover tomato sauce all over it and shoved it in the oven for 3/4 hour. We were all surprised how good it turned out!)
Is the Viggo Mortensen film you mean "Hidalgo"?

You can call me TC Posted Mar 5, 2004
salmon and spinach were rock hard because they were still frozen.
Who'd believe I've been a housewife for 30 years and am quite a passable cook, really.

'nother category: the charismatic - nothing out of the order in the looks department, but still able to induce weak at the knees-ness: say Al Pacino, or Gary Oldman.

How annoyed am I that Angel is being cancelled?!?
Just as it's getting good too!
The episode on Tuesday was fab - a proper smackdown between Spike and Angel at last!
I find Angel to be fat and fatuous, whereas Spike is eternally funny, English (so that helps with the sense of humour... ), and an old punk but with a sensitive side - what more could an old goth girl like me want in life?
So Methos are you going to see James Marsters when his band play in Germany? I'm off to see him in London in May, and I'm sooooooooo excited - I feel like a teenager again!
Rather embarrassing really.

I'm kicking myself that I forgot to check up what "Down with Love" was - the original Énglish version was showing near me last week. Now I've found out it was Ewan
McGregor
and Renee Zellweger. Has anyone seen it? How really 60s was it? (Can't imagine what people find so fascinating about the 60s - when I think about how we walked around in those days - back-combed hair, skirts miles above our knobbly knees, loads of nylon and polyester. and the make-up ....
yeuurk)

Angel is being cancelled? Oh well, that whole thing is getting passed it's sell by date, but as you say, TC, it has improved of late and it's nice to see that Wes is less of a wuss than he was. James Masters is fairly convincing as a Brit, thanks to Joss Whedon having been at school in the UK for 3 years.
Nat Parker was able in Inspector Lynley, although it was Havers who solved the crime, as usual

I always miss Inspector Lynley because I have to record The Bill for -hubs. But the bits I saw in the ad breaks looked good.
Still thinking about the differences between merely good looking and full-on, knee-trembling

Mr Prophet (General Purpose Genre Guru) Posted Mar 5, 2004
You should watch some of Buffy Season 2 again and listen to Spike's original accent!
The credit for the improvement, apparently, goes to Tony 'Giles' Head. Despite those plummy Watcher's tones, his real accent is much closer to Spike's, so he coached Mr Marsters.

I had forgotten that MrP. What's happened to the spin off with Tony Head?

Swiv (decrepit postgrad) Posted Mar 5, 2004
lost in the ether alas...
I saw Down with Love - on a plane. It was quite fun, Ewan got to wear some good suits. The plot suddenly went into hyper-drive in the last half hour or so, criss-crossing to insanity and back. It looked pretty good, the acting was fine (I Niles from Frasier) and it was pretty good fun. Nothing spectacular though.

You can call me TC Posted Mar 6, 2004
It wasn't me. I didn't say anything about Spike. (Is he that white-haired character in Buffy?)

Methos (one half of the HHH Management) Posted Mar 6, 2004
Yes, I saw "Hidalgo". Let's say if you're a fan of Mr. Mortensen or a fan of horses or of both , then you're going to enjoy yourself. If you're not go there - don't go.
As I am fan of both, I enjoyed it although they could have cut half an hour of the movie. It did have some lengths.
Isn't Spike great? I loved the "Cpt. Forehead"-title he gave Angel. And that Harmony calls him "Blondiebear". Blondiebear and Cpt. Forehead...
When is James Marsters in germany and how could I have missed that? I already missed Keanu Reeves with band - ten years ago or something.
to the charismatic category - I'd add Alan Rickman!
