Love Actually is on at the German cinemas, but I am holding back for the original version. It should come to our cinema. Lucky for us that Germersheim is full of girls (language faculty) who speak foreign languages and when the students are up there are lots of good high culture and high--content films in the original English or French to suit the audience.

The jealousy is somewhat reduced, however, by the fact that I have just been watching the trailers (on Squintyvision) of the Troy film.
boy looking decidedly un-
-ish, but tasty nonetheless. Added to which it is he and Brad Pitt in skirts. What can be wrong with that?
Oh, and Sean Bean is in it. Hope he's wearing a skirt too.
But did they have to make Helen blonde?

Mr Prophet (General Purpose Genre Guru) Posted Nov 30, 2003
Helen always ends up being blonde. I think it's a Hollywood thing.

I've spent my afternoon at the LotR exhibition. http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/exhibitions/lordoftherings/default_flash.asp
Sho, page 158. Take a close look.

I thought Monarch of the Glen ended on a low note last night, I hope the Crimble special at least hints at some sort of return for Archie, or Lexie jetting off to join him for a holiday. I can't believe that the writers will effectively end the marriage, after all Lexie has loved him for years.
I have got my copy of of the Caribbean

Forgot to watc MotG, but then I'd gone off it anyway.
Seems to be my year for going off TV programmes... Stargate didn't grab me this week either.
And am now *seething with jealousy* about people who have otC DVDs...

Coniraya Posted Dec 1, 2003
We watched it this evening and it was even funnier second time round. Johnny Depp has gone up further still in my estimation and boy is really rather cute.

Have asked for otC for Christmas (please Santa please) so must wait till then and see.
but did see Master and Commander at the weekend - nothing wrong with Russell Crowe in naval uniform. or Paul Bettany topless. or James D'Arcy. Nothing at all.

Coniraya Posted Dec 2, 2003
Not sure how keen I am to see M&C, but H will prolly want to see it so will go and keep him company
Sho, that episode was written by Christopher Judge, I expect you noticed. As soon as all the girlies hove into view, No1 son said 'Ha! He wrote so that he would 'get some''.

Sho - employed again! Posted Dec 2, 2003
That's what I thought too, although a friend who heard CJ talk about it at a con said it sounded good.
so far, online, i'm the only one who hated it.
Master & Commander (oo er missus!) looks fab, the FT review said it was excellent, and I have to admit that Mr. Crowe looks tasty in naval gear.
I'm jealous of people watching otC, but my day will come, I expect.
boy now looks totally different from Legolas, I find myself letching both.
surprise!

I haven't seen the episode yet, but from the transcript it looks pretty second string (and I don't just say that because it Josses all my Jaffa-based fanfics). To be honest, Mr Judge may be a good actor, but I really don't rate him as a writer.
Saw M&C on Sunday; good stuff, slashy as you like (and you know I know you like it very slashy).

Sho - employed again! Posted Dec 2, 2003
AHA! You wait until I tell Kat you're a secret slasher... I dare you (double dare you if you like) to slash Daniel and Jack. Or Jack and the character of your choice.
Go on, you know you want to.
M&C looks fab, and if the FT guy liked it, who am I to argue?
I have just endured Birthright again. Mr.P, spare yourself the agony. It is a pile of poo only barely surpassed in poo-ish-ness by Avenger 2.0.
And our chat with Joe which was scheduled for Saturday has been cancelled (well, postponed). He must have heard that I'm out to get him with my big nasty boots on.

I heard him say that IRL when we saw him in Macbeth
I still haven't entirely recovered, even though he had shaved his head.
