well Iv'e been on h2g2 for 3 years in May and I talk to some of the people I've known longer on here on MSN but apart from school friends and family I haven't met anyone I know online.

I'd like to meet up with some people online, but I'd prefer to start of locally, to build up confidence, and then travel further. My only real worry is boring whoever I meet to death!
What about the H2G2 meets? Ever been to any?

No I haven't, I'd really like too, but it takes a couple of hours just to get to the Scottish meets...and most of my friends on h2g2 are down south.

I can see why that would be a difficulty! I'm right in the middle of the country, which I suppose is a benefit. Who knows, I may go to the next big meet if I know a few more people by then

I'm going home tonight... takes all of 30 minutes on the train! I think I'll risk not buying a ticket tonight- It cost me £24 lastw eek to get to London and back, and I didn't have my ticket cjhecked once! What a waste!

mmm see I'd buy a ticket because I know if I didn't I'd get asked.

TeaKay Posted Mar 1, 2003
You can buy them quite legitimately once you're on teh train, you just can't get any discounts then. But I think I'd end up spending less anyway...
Gah, I dunn. Trains!

I like trains can't wait until the easter holidays, me and a few friends are gonna have a girly day out in Edinburgh or Glasgow meaning having to take the train down, which will be fun

I dunno about that, I'd just listen to music & read a magazine or something
Ullo
TeaKay Posted Mar 2, 2003
Yeah, if you're lucky enough to get a seat, or clever enough to buy a magazine or bring a book with you... but if you're stuck standing up with your face in some stranger's armpit....

ahh see this is why I always have my Minidisc player and a book in my bag so when boredom on buses or at school sets in I have something to do.

TeaKay Posted Mar 2, 2003
If I'm on a train it's usually because I'm going home which means I have a massive bag full off clothes and textbooks... hell to lug around when everybody else is determined to get in your way and trip you up :s

ahh see I'm really good at packing, usually all I need is my school bag a few pieces of clothes that can be easily washed etc my MD with a mix disc already in, a book, my mobile, wallet and keys.
when most girls could surive only with two huge cases I can use a shoulder bag.
my problem withing using trains coming back from uni for me would be lugging around my portfolio.

The only reason I have a bag full of clothes is because I'm taking it home to be washed :D
And now I'll have to lug my laptop home as well... which I'm not complaining about because it is useful and was also free :D
