I've just done the Tesco run so am having a bit of lunch now before heading off to Mum's for the rest of the day. PG Tips is on offer, 160 pyramid tea bags for just over £2. I've joined their cuppa club and saving the codes on the inside lid so I can get myself a 3-tier cake stand by Oliver Bonas. I remember Mum had one in the 1960s, which we always made little for and it only ever came out of the cupboard on special occasions! Sadly it didn't survive the move from the shop to their house in Reynolds Street, I was about 10 then so they are very early memories of the cake stand.
I've just popped online to post this journal as Ian will be here when I arrive home tonight and I don't like to go on the computer then. I couldn't resist looking at the artwork supplied for my latest entry about the Egyptian Pharaoh who "visited" Niagara Falls. I've applied it so you can all see: A87813516 how wonderful is that??? Don't we have some talented must go thank Freewayriding then am off to Mum's. Later, peeps

Just made it in time to keep up the NaJoPoMo! It's been a long day, Mum asked for salmon soup but when I dished it up she had a couple of mouthfuls then declared she didn't want it. I take Ian to visit his daughter and youngest grandson on a Tuesday afternoon so I told Mum I'd pop back later to see her. We sat and waited until 4pm as Lucas had gone out with his big sister, then I ran Ian home, came back to Tesco to get the stuff I forgot yesterday, then went to Mums. I found my brother feeding her fish and chips. Apparently he'd arrived when the tea carer had made Mum the sandwich she'd asked for but when it arrived she refused to eat it. So Robert offered to go get her fish & chips! I'd not eaten since breakfastI really could have done without the gorgeous smell of fish and chips in the house.
Yesterday my sister delivered all her wrapped Christmas gifts and I am at how organised she is, I've not even done any shopping never mind have it all wrapped and delivered. I think I'll skip Christmas this year. Good job Ian's not bothered, he's a fully paid-up member of the Bah! Humbug! club.
I noticed that Richard III has been in the news again. I'm glad I wrote A87787273 when I did!
All of a sudden Grimsby is cool. This morning on BBC News they were discussing Grimsby, and famous people who came from there. Susanna, who is partnering "Kevin from Grimsby" (Kevin Clifton) on Strictly Come Dancing, said Grimsby is the centre of her universe at the moment I almost feel ashamed at how I have dissed Grimsby in the past. Almost
Bedtime for me as I am organising Mum in the morning, she's going to the Curzon which means I can take Ian to visit his Mum (and Olive, and the Colonel, and Eric, for whom I must remember not to wear my black trousers)

Am really enjoying your journal as a way of keeping up with both you and your mum. Thank you so much for writing it.

My pleasure Wand'rin Star
Sad news to report today when we arrived at The Old Library to visit Ian's Mum (Eileen) a carer waylaid us and told us that Joyce, who Eileen used to go to school with and sat next to since she moved into The Old Library, passed away this morning. Ian was shocked as he'd only spoken to Joyce on Monday and she seemed fine. Of course his Mum Eileen was dreadfully upset, thank goodness I was able to go this morning because she raised a smile for me, her first of the day. After we left we both agreed it was good for Joyce because she just celebrated a birthday and she said then she hoped it was her last as she was fed up.
for Joyce and her family.
I was able to go boots shopping this afternoon and got fixed up in the second shop I went in they're my Christmas present from Mum.
Ian will be very easy to buy for. His computer wallpaper says "Bah! Humbug!" and he's told me to get a sat nav for my car which he will pay for, and that is all the Christmas gift he needs.

I am never going to live that down, am I Wand'rin Star?
I'm supporting Kevin from Grimsby to win the contest, Bea.
My Egyptian Pharaoh who "visited" Niagara Falls is on the Front Page that artwork does make me laugh!
Comet ISON has passed perihelion now. I'm still hopeful that we're going to get a fabulous comet to ogle in early December Jon Culshaw was on the news earlier, being interviewed about the comet. He was touted as "the presenter of the BBC's The Sky At Night"
I knew he'd been on the show but I didn't know he was the presenter, I thought that was Chris Lintott.
Happy Thanksgiving Day to my friends across the pond!

They've announced that the comet didn't survive its 2,000° trip around the sun. It's basically destroyed.
