No, my dear GB, d N(T comfort yourself with gin!!
It makes me cry. !!
However I used to really enjoy a gin and mixed vermouth on the rocks - -. that was my tipple at a cocktail party - in the good old days. with a cherry in it.
If I had one now, I would probably try and get out of my wheelchair, so I shall be good and not succumb to that delight. !!
With affection
Christiane

Now I am off to try and find which channel that marvellous tennis match was on. I have seen the Queeen arriving. I must admit I had a little weep when I saw the lovely welcoming ex-ladychampions greeting her. They were all so lovely and gracious.
I am a great fan of Her Royal Majesty. She is only slightly 9lder than I am and she is so active and so charming.

Hello Christiane
I am also a big fan of HM the Queen A8466339 and it's a delight for me also to see her arrival at Wimbledon today. I heard she doesn't like tennis, so it makes it even better that she attended today
I don't like gin at all can't even stand the smell, my favourite tipple is Malibu and pineapple which I can seemingly drink to my heart's content - it doesn't make me tipsy just mellow, and no hangover

It is Gordon's birthday today and he's texted that he's been round 2 German castles and is being treated to an opera tonight
With all this going on, he says he is missing me and is looking forward to the "best bit" - belatedly celebrating with me on Saturday

Thank you Christiane
Gordon arrived home approx 10pm and rang here (I'd gone to bed after the football) and so when he rang at 9am just now, I was still awaiting news as Andrew wasn't yet up to pass on the message. Plans have changed for today as I'd emailed him the details of Armed Forces Day (Gordon used to be in the RAF) and as there's a flypast and marching on Cleethorpes Promenade around 3pm, complete with dignitaries and a buffet after at the RN Club (where we're both members) we are attending that (although I won't partake of the teatime buffet due to eating belated birthday meal tonight)
The opera he saw was Othello, for those interested although it was sung in Italian with German subtitles, he enjoyed it and managed to stay with the plot so he had quite an entertaining birthday

All he wanted was an Othello but somebody misunderstood him and sent him to the opera
'bout that, couldn't resist
Have a nice day, you two
And you, Christiane

Was that Verdi's "Otello"? It's an excellent opera, probably my favourite, but better when you can understand what they are saying.

I was under the impression an Othello was a german/austrian thing but I may be misguided
Anyway, hope you are having a good time, AGB

Wonderful thank you dear
He wasn't needed at school today so he came along to the cinema with me, and we had a pub lunch after. On Saturday he's taking me to the Grimsby Auditorium to see "Mum's The Word"... <quote>Five women...five stories...one common thread...a hilarious and intimate look at motherhood.
