Hi

I've come to join the happy throng. smiley - sadface

The last thing my downstairs face smiled at was a speculum.

Guaranteed sympathy here, considering we're all suffering.

Although, I think I am going to take a leaf out of Cliff Richard's book and say I never took a vow of celibacy...smiley - bigeyes

I used to have all that love and fluffy nicestuff in my life. I was engaged to my teenage sweetheart for seven years, until he dumped me last November, and then again after we breifly reconciled in January.
This was particularly poo since at the same time my business went bankrupt.

After a decent interval I got back into the swing of things with a sweet chap who remains a vey dear freind. Then lots and lots of casual sex which seemed great at first and then just got a bit sad after the umpteenth hump. And now, I've been celibate for about 3 months which is the longest I've ever gone without.

And I *so* fell for a bloke this summer who meanwhile was falling back into heroin. smiley - cry

Aw I'm sorry Red here smiley - hug I know its a patronising symbol, but I like it smiley - cheerup mostly cause of the flower. You are amongst your equals now and we all are united, by what we lack, but at least we all have each other to discuss things and you know what they say, a problem shared is a problem halved.

Yes, I remember reading your journal at the time, redbootz.
smiley - hug
And I am very glad you got out of that one. You would have got caught up in that downward spiral and it really wasn't your problem.smiley - sadface

The longer I am celibate the more "choosy" I am getting, as daft as that sounds, but it's true.
As you found out, casual sex is like smiley - ermbread without the dough...alcohol-free lager....fake snow....all the crappy things that aren't quite right.
Sure it feels nice at the time, but I guess you'd feel the same after a smiley - hug and a smiley - kiss from a friend, the "feelgood" factor is a turn-on, but just you try asking a bloke to "just sleep" with you.smiley - sadface
No, don't.

If you can, find another celibate friend and say that's what you miss, the hugging and the kissing, not the sex.
Because sex is only meaningful in a loving relationship, isn't it?

And it'll be worth waiting for, when you find someone to care about {or when he finds you}.

Back from my vacation. Still holds the longest streak (I think) and it's still counting.
Why'd I have to get back to work? Getting up that early in the morning should be outlawed. One would not have to get up until the sun's gone up. Anyways... I'm babbling.... I'll stop.

.-) Thanks, GB.
The holidays were good, I guess. It was time off from work if nothing else. First time I've had more than a day off since December last year, so I needed it. But for some reason, I get easily bored when not doing anything, while at the same time wanting to do nothing as it's my vacation, so I'm in a sort of Catch 22. It's good to be back, though..

I know what you mean about holiday. I have only taken single days since last January. I worked it out today, I've got 26 days leave saved up and I can only carry 9 into next year. smiley - erm

I know the feeling, Menza. I had taken 2 single days off this year previous to this vacation, and I had 22 days left to take and I can't roll any days over to next year. I've got another 3 days off at the end of the month, sort of like an extended weekend, where I've got friday, monday and tuesday off.. That will be nice.smiley - smiley

We don't have public holidas here. Because if there's a public holiday in Sweden, there might not be in the UK, and vice versa, and that means they can put us on the phones anyways.smiley - smiley And I have worked every christmas or New Years or both for the last 5 years, I think. No time off. Mostly cause the pay is good.smiley - smiley
