They mentioned snow in south... They also said that the traffic is kinda paralyzed (which doesn't sound like news anyway if it is about UK ).

Traffic gets paralyzed in this country as soon as there's just a hint of snow on the roads. If it's more than a couple of inches, people around here goes into Hibernation, cause "they can't get to work"....

And if there is no snow they can possibly find some other reason to mess up the traffic, especially trains. Isn't it so? I don't have any personal experience... Here the snow is ever so normal.

What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Trains can kill people easily. Today something like this happened in Australia.

Well, usually, trains can blame almost anything to cancel thair journeys. Like snow, power cuts, wet leaves on the tracks(!).... Just think if I'd had a car, and called in some autumn morning, saying I wouldn't be coming in to work cause ther were wet leaves on the road.. They'd bloody sack me for that.

...I got all the way there....it took half an hour, only to find the school closed.
Bear in mind that I listened to the radio this morning from 7am onwards and listened to every school the DJ read out, which was closed.
I rang my daughter when I got back home at 9.30 with my grandson, and she said "ing" and she'd try and get the afternoon off.
As it was, she worked through her lunch hour and got here at 10 to 3.
They left at 3pm.
My own son got delivered home at 3.07pm.
*sigh*
Oh look, it's the weekend.
Ho hum.
How long is it till Monday morning?

Thank you, dear.
I twisted my right ankle couple weeks ago and then I did it again yesterday. It looks quite now and is twice as big as usual. No good for walking though.

I try. With not much success.
I have to heat the house as it's -15...-20C these days and I have this stove heating. Which means quite a lot of wood-carrying. And also I have to carry in and out the water. That's the worst bit - carrying things. Other than that I can jump on one foot or so. Or just sit still.
Key: Complain about this post
