I'm Number 1
It's not like I like to brag, but being the footbal team's keeper I'm number. None of my mates wanted to be the team's keeper so I volunteered. You have to be mad to want to be the keeper but I like. I spend most of the game screaming from the top of my box and my mates listen mostly. Not so often I get to play hero as strikers run at me and kick the ball at me as hard as they can. I personally like to run at the strikers too, if they are going to score at least I can give them a knock. Half of the time the strikers look very surprised to see me coming. I watch their eyes to see what they will do. I watch their eyes as they fly over my sliding body. All this has one of three results; they score I swear, they miss I scream, the ref whistles for a penalty kick.
After the game we all go to the pub for a pint. Everyone congratulates or advises their number one and I start all over. The team trains during the week and we drink more pints preparing for Sunday's match. We all have jobs and we all have families which are very important but to me football is number one.
