hm, in one of the famous icelandic sagas a warrior gets the lower half of his one leg hewn off with his opponents sword. but he just bravely hops opn his one good foot over to at stump and rests his stump on the tree stump and fights on

i guess monty python build the black knight in 'monty python and the holy grail' on this saga
