Big Bother is watching us, but Little Sista is looking after us it seems...
Hello again Dancer

Who are this group, what's their name? Do they benefit from undue influence through the powersharing coalitions, or are they a powerful party in their own right.
<>
Are they a social improvement / education group like Hammas?

Are you opposed to religious groups in general, or is it the use of religion as a political tool, or do you think that religion and the state should be seperate?
I must say that i think that Islams inherrent belief that there is no division between religion and politics is a double eged sword. On one hand there is a definate need for the State to have some social responisblitiy (ethical / moral accountablitiy if you like) and so it needs to be grounfded in some kind of ideology, but religion is both so amibuois (open to interpretation), and inflexible (dogmatic) - and so can be used as an excuse for totalitarianism. And also the excesses of the State (and all states are oppressive things ultimately) become indevisable from the excesses of the religion - so Islam has been branded with the excesses of individual States and dictators.

It's odd, because i've never heard about this second reslution, and it doesn't appear in any of my history books (which admittedly are all fairly right wing books - but it's the right wing who are most pro-Israeli over here, despite their innate anti-semitism). But i must admit i think the formation of Israel was bothched from the outset, and in a lot of ways i think that the region was doomed to lengthy war and civil struggle from the moment of it's establishment - but the 'blame' as such belongs as much at the door of the west (US / UK) as it does the middle easten states.

How are things with you at the moment? Things in Israel look pretty unpleasant from a distance. How is it, and how are you?
