I probly should have read closer, but.. is there a way to make your own icons and smileys? Or do you have to have a special position to do it? I'd rather like to make some smileys and such.... I can think of many that are needed. Hot cocoa and towels, for a couple...
Anyway, I'm flubbing around aimlessly, trying to catch up on my messages quickly here before bedtime and figured I'd try hopping by your space ( - Ha! Hopping! That wasn't exactly intentional... maybe one of those subconscious things...)
Umm, yeah. Heya there, and stuff.

Hi there MH,
About making your own smilies - this is impossible for conversations and Jurnal Entries, but it is well possible for entries. Scroll down my personal space and look for the link to Twinkle's gadget that makes cool HTML Tables that are smilies .
As for the others - there's a future smily "to do" list here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A651935
It's a list of all smilies on the que to creation, and you can add your own ideas there if you want.
Yours,
Dancer

HTML table smilies?
My head is already spinning with the stuff I'm going to have to do when I log back on next time... I'm too woozy at the moment to try to do any editing (making mroe links and such on my page for places I have to visit... "Links for other people to follow" is just a ruse. I have them there for me.)
But future smileys sounds like a good one. And the noticeboard, and the Post, and......

I can see I'm making you ,
Maybe we should talk more here instead of talking in 3 different places, though we do talk about different subjects, but I guess we can handle them all in one thread.
I have no time for real replies to your posts right now, So I'll talk to you later.
See you,
Yours,
Dancer

'Sokay.... endless time is available online, as there is no electronic sun that rises and sets.
I don't mind carrying on three or even several conversations with the same person in different places.... Keeps me on my toes.
Conversations can be consolidated if you want, though on most days I'm not as gorggy and I don't mind chasing a conversation 'round the Guide.

Yeah, I hear that (twice). I'm surrounded by Geminis usually. I've long thought it was some sort of curse.... If I stand in a room for long enough, then all the Geminis unconsciously gather around me, whether they realise I'm there or not. More than half the people I end up meeting and actually talking to later are Geminis. (Go figure, but statistically that's whacked.)
I've absorbed some Geminious traits, but I'm still a hobbitish Cancerian.

I'm really a classic cancerian. All sensitive and honest and all...
I'm both artistic (Dance) and rational (Programming), I am verry open minded and eclectic, and though verry much like contact and other people, can manage solitude for long periods verry well (Not only intimately, but also socially).
Is this really tipical cancerian?

March Hare Posted Nov 13, 2001
The short description, and less whimslical, is that Cancerians are like hobbits or guinea-pigs (cavies, if you're UK).
They like home and hearth and food and family; they like cozy days; when threatened, they retreat into their shell and don't come out till it's safe (or never, for the more severe); they're dramatic, and they tend to be old-fashioned in many ways.
Phsically, they tend to have large or round builds. Unless you've got other influences, your frame will never be that of the skinny supermodel or the wispy genius.
And that is the other thing about astrology: People hear a description and say, "That's not me," but there are two things about that: One is that you are not only your sun sign, but also the influence of where everything else was at your time of birth (Mars, Jupiter, the Moon, etc.), and the second is that very often a person will have thpse traits but either not recognise them or not *want* those traits, and therefore not believe they have them. (Try telling an Aires that Aries are pushy and bossy; many will say, "I'm not like that," even if they are.)
Forgive me, I'm a fan of the science of astrology. If it was good enough for Kepler, it's good enough for me.

Of course, I tend to say I've been exposed to Gemini radiation - I'm typical Cancer in many ways, but I've also picked up Geminian traits. Go figure.
Hey, a fellow Cancerian.
Dancer (put your advert here) Posted Nov 13, 2001
Well, What you described is both far from how cancerians were described to me, and far from who I am.... I guess the other wtarts were in complete contrediction to cancer when I was born...
Does signs radiate?
Dancer
Hey, a fellow Cancerian.
March Hare Posted Nov 15, 2001
I don't know if signs radiate often, but I've definitely gained many Geminious traits that aren't typical to a Cancerian...
Yeah, you may have rising sign and moon sign and all that in different (and very opposing) places.
Are family and stomach-health important to you? Do you like food, or like cooking? Do you like it when you have an opportunity to have a cozy sort of day?
When confronted with difficulty or attacked or hurt, do you retreat from others or make yourself inaccessible?
There are a lot of different Cancerian traits. Cancer is also cardinal water, so you may have an odd affinity for water... take me, I usually have two or three drinks next to me - water, tea, ice tea, hot cocoa, cider.... happier in humid weather... all that.
Astrology really can be fascinating, when you get into it, but some books are made for show, and some books list off traits that they arrived at by passing judgements about characteristics.
What traits do you have? And what was it that you were told were Cancer traits?
Hey, a fellow Cancerian.
Dancer (put your advert here) Posted Nov 15, 2001
Well, I like food alot, but am vegeterian. I cook abit, but not that much. family is most important to me, and healt is pretty important, but I don't do anything especially for it, I mainly just have a robust helth and immune system (tfu tfu tfu).
I like cozy days, but most of my days are quite full and uncozy.
I usually handle myself well and independently about extreme situations (good or bad) but I like to share them or my thoughts/feelings about them with good friends.
I drink alot (in the summer it sometimes gets over 9 liters a day).
I like swimming and have a swimming pool. I like baths.
I was told the cancers are sensitive... what I wrote in the previous post about it.
I am verry self confident, and I like people. I have great understanding of touch and healing with touch. I treat other Dancers alot.
I can switch my thoughts/emotions from one to another, and also on/off quite easily.
I am extremely nice, and like to treat everybody as I would like to be treated. A bit altroist also.
And finally, I'm verry honest. Enough for it to be completely without tact so meny times, and even enough to hut people sometimes . I hardly ever lie, and I say what I think, even the bad stuff.
Yours,
Dancer

March Hare Posted Nov 19, 2001
Yeah, Cancerians are sensitive...
Cancer is cardinal water, which means its element is water - the element/realm of emotion, sensitivity, empathy - and its quality is cardinal, meaning that it embodies and personifies all that water is and all that the element of water grants. Traits like empathy, sensitivity, an ability to connect with other living things; communion with water, an ability to adjust (as water flows), patience....
Were you, by any chance, born in 1977?
There are some traits you have that I have in common with you, but I can't place their influence as far as astrology... I wish I still had my ephemerides; they make it so easy to see what influences someone has in their chart.
I've also got the trait of (brutal) honesty... Though I've learned to temper my words, and I only give my full counsel to those who understand that I don't sugar up my words and advice. My friend in Montana, with the recent birthday, knows well enough that I can always give her my direct advice. We have an interesting pact; she's in a position where she doesn't desert those who are her friends under any circumstances - misunderstanding, wrong words, anything, so long as they don't intend to hurt her - and I give her honest feedback and loyal support and friendship. Works pretty well, I must say, and one of the few friendships I've had that's like that.

I was born on July 16th 1978. I know what you mean about the honesty thing. I'm still not wise wnough, and I belive in my way. Funnily enough I just got into trouble (?) recently (yesterday) because of that... but as I said, I do belive in my way.

That's crazy, man. You have the same birthday as a friend of mine from middle school... except you're exactly a year younger. Weird.
Trouble? Trouble with what?
It can be tough to be both honest and blunt. I believe in my ways, but I've spent a lot of time thinking to learn how to temper it. I've gotten better, but I'm still not very bendable and I'm stubborn. My mother calls me rigid.
Hmm... Year of the horse... You don't sit still often, do you?

Dancer, in celtic terms you are governed by the nature of the Elm Tree: Noble-mindedness; Pleasant shape, tasteful clothes, modest demands, tends to not forgive mistakes, cheerful, likes to lead but not to obey, honest and faithful partner, tends to a know-all-attitude and making decisions for others, noble-minded, generous, good sense of humor, practical.
Mine is the Fig Tree: The Sensible One, Very strong, a bit self-willed, independent, does not allow contradiction or arguments, loves life, its family, children and animals, a bit of a butterfly, good sense of humor, likes idleness and laziness, of practical talent and intelligence.

Year of the horse, I like that sond, I love horses. And I can stay still for long, I just never get to do it, as thaere's always too much going on.
Aljiis, how does the Celtic system work?
It is quite right except tasteful clothes, no way, and not being able to obey... I am quite dicipliined ( ).
It is dead on the spot with the know-it-all attitude and the generousity (excessive if you ask my parents).
Do March Hare's also please. It is interesting to cross the results of this with the results of the Cube.

The 28th. of June comes under the Apple Tree:
Love; Of slight build, lots of charm, appeal and attraction, pleasant aura, flirtatious, adventurous, sensitive, always in love, wants to love and be loved, faithful and tender partner, very generous, scientific talents, lives for today, a carefree philosopher with imagination.
Alji
P.S. I'm working on the Celtic Tree system. I'll put it in the guide.
