The place is fun isn't it?

I did the same when I first joined up, I surfed around the place for a day and decided the following day to get involved. Of course the site wasn't quite as well developed so I was slightly more able to get straight into writing for the guide. I picked up GuideML by the end of the first week despite no previous programming knowledge and was well involved very quickly. I would be on the welcoming committee if I thought I could spend more time here, but outside pressures mean I just say hello to new people occasionally.

Why did you choose Okapi? I know a very little about them (Thanks to African Adventure by Willard Price).

I too would spend more time here if I wasn't doing all those working things....and i would ask the same question or yourself: why Dancing Ermine? My knowledge of those furry little critters is strictly limited to the basics:1) They're furry 2) People (and I use the term loosely)use them to make collars and 3) As far as as I am aware, they definitely do not dance!
As to why I chose the name Okapi....well, it's pretty long story that stems from my music playing days - it's a sort of 'I-gues-you-had-to-be-there'situation; one that I can still smile about, on recollection, but one that would probably leave you wishing that you had either never asked the question in the first place or stayed watching the paint dry!
Sorry it took me so long to reply to your greeting - reasons? See the first line! I'm still exploring and pondering what on earth I can
write as a first attempt at getting an article accepted!
