Here's a review of Gilhooley's from a Houston newspaper. It also has a pretty fair description of the area and people.

The preview button is directly above the Post Message button under the text box as you write a new post. At least that's where it is in Brunel. It's next to it in Alabaster and classic goo.

thank you, mon cher Comte,

I have just remembered. I always eat oysters raw - and I chew them !!!! That ensures that if one is not OK, then you just "spit" it out - excuse the expressions, and you will never suffer from oyster poisoning.

I alwaus have a little "chat" to them and tell them how fortunate they are to being eaten alive by me who ,loves them so much that I would never dream of putting anything to hide their glorious natural taste. !!

Ah me, Perhaps I am ready for the nut house. !!

I would not dream of eating a cooked oyster. I just love them raw. But I do cook mussels.

Have a wonderful day amd thank you for that lovely cutting which took a long time to read because my eyes are so bad. It sounds the most marvellous place.

Hi, Christiane

My family used to enjoy oyster stew on new year's Eve every year. I think that tradition has been forgotten the last few years. Oyster stew is made by simmering oysters in milk. It's good with crackers.

The "Preview" button is to the left of the "post message" button, below the box where you write your posts. Next time you post, look for it. It's not hidden.

Peace!
