I was deeply saddened to miss the two viewings of the
Douglas Noel Adams The Hitchikers ride to the Galaxie last week.
Imagine how thrilled I was to hear this morning, in the wee hours, that tonight, at 22.45 BST, on Radio 4, the above book is going to be the "bedtime" reading . I wonder if it is going to be an abridged version? They generally are.
I just thought that I would let all your lovers of Sc Fi know. I only hope that I can stay awake.!!
Happy listening.

...and the new Hitchhikers book is on sale today. Commissioned by Douglas Adams's wife, it was written by Eoin Colfer, author of the Artemis Fowl series. It continues the adventures of Arthur Dent.

Hello Christiane
Thank you for the information about the radio 4 bedtime reading but that's too late for me. I find from late September that I need more hours sleep, as though I am going into a hibernation state for winter.
I have got the series of books at home, so I can always read them at my leisure.

*And Another Thing...*
I picked up a copy on my way to pick up the kitty from the vet's. While there I also found a Terry Pratchett book that I didn't know was out.
Oh, and I also got a Simon's Cat's new book.

I had heard about the new Terry Pratchett book--my niece was reading it in new Hampshire this weekend. I just didn't know about the H2G2 book. No libraries in my network have even ordered copies of it yet.

Were they really reading the book? The original Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy was a radio series that got turned into a book. How strange!

The latest volume is by Eoin Colfer. It's called "And another thing," and it continues the story after the fifth book in the series ended. I'm reading it now.

I like how it's "Part 6 of 3".
I'm going to try to enjoy it. I did like the couple of Artemis Fowl books I read. I'll check my apprehension and give it a fair shot.
If it makes me giggle and think, it'll be a success.
If it stinks, Colfer won't be able to hide on this planet from all the rabid Hitchhikers.
