Mr Jack

Uhm... what? You need a MacMini to word process?

What I was getting at is all I needed to word process and surf is mini.

"Look- You're experiencing a little buyer's remorse, but you've obviously thought this through. That's why you got a refurbished G5 instead of one of the new Macintels- you know they work. You have a more powerful computer- sure, for now, you just need it for internet, but the not-too-distant future will bring a need for applications that suck more processing power, and it'll be well within the standard one-year warantee that you got when you bought it from an Apple dealer."

This is part of it I guess. When I get internet set-up I will more happy with it... And over time I will get more used to the Mac interface...
One think that was bothering me was that I don't *need* a new computer like I did when I first started saving for one, and I feel I could have waited refurbs of the current G5 to turn up before I start to *need* a machine. Right now it feels like huge indulgence that I'm not getting any pleasure from. [I'm crap at Nanosaur2 smiley - winkeye].

"Will you be able to get modem connection from home? Painfully slow, I know, but it would mean we get more of you heresmiley !"

I'm communicating over the same sub 28.8kbps modem I have for years. Speak not to me of painfully slow, you have no idea of what it means!
I will tomorrow/later today review my options with broadband. I wanted to 'upgrade' my service with my current ISP change the address number payment method everything but stick with them because that way I get good value broadband [as close to good value as home broadband gets in this country]. But I may have to switch to BT who at the moment look expensive but it should really simple to set-up payments with them... But I'll review first.

"Use it, don't begrudge it now that you have it! (is begrudge a suitable word here asks the foreign one)"

I've been watching dvds on it towards this end and 'begrudge' is fine, though 'resent' would probably be the word most would use, but the same concept is communicated.

"In time you can save up for the flat screen - one has to know ones priorities!"

If I'd have got a sony flat panel 42" screen TV/monitor HD ready with built-in freeview digital and scart sockets I could have saved twoards an all-in one media set-up. It was a direction to go in.
It seems trivial but I have to keep an eye to what my future may be like.

1. You're not an idiot!!!

In many ways I am.

2. People, as a society and esp. in groups are stupid.... (eg. building people)

I'm not asking them for credit, not even an overdraft, I just want to have some flexability in how I can spend my 'own' money. But yeah...

3. smiley - cuddle s from me!!

smiley - cuddlesmiley - smooch...

I'm pretty good at that. I'm on the advanced levels, but I can't get past the M.C. Escher one.

Mr Jack

So, I'm Macked-up and am enjoying the pleasures of broadband. This has reminded me that I need to remember to buy a cashiers check and send it to LA.

I've got 'Steady As She Goes' in my head...

"Find yourself a girl, and settle down
Live a simple life in a quiet town

Steady as she goes (steady as she goes)
Steady as she goes (steady as she goes)
So steady as she goes

Your friends have shown a kink in the single life
You've had too much to think, now you need a wife"

I think my therapsit and I have started on a cycle of decline in our respect for each other.

I wonder why I think that might be a good thing? Have you outgrown her enough to question her, and make your own judgments of what you need?

<<You've had too much to think, now you need a wife"<<

Too much to think! smiley - smiley I like that phrase!

I don't know why, but I come to think of the song title of the Cardigans: "I need some fine wine, and you, you need to be nicer" Weird for a title and a very sugary melody. I admit to being too shallow to actually having listened to the lyrics smiley - blush

I quite like the Cardigans, haven't listened to anything of theirs in so long I should see if I could any of their albums through the library. I'd really like to listen to 'Rise and Shine'.
