Weak And Powerless
Mr Jack Posted Oct 17, 2005
Well I see my GP tomorrow.
I don't think I want to read that site on surgery any more. It's making quite queasy and nervous about even considering it as an option. But I don't know if other ways will work for me.
I think I've gained more weight.
My weight was stable/reducing and now I'm gaining again. I can't stand it.

Sorry about the link. That site's useful-ish for general health information too, though; you might want to check out other things on it, like arthritis or whatever.
A couple of seriously overweight people I know joined weight loss groups, and both lost several stone over the course of a year or so. One was Weightwatchers; I can't remember the other, but the impression I got was that it was being in a group, with counsellors and support and everything, that helped them more than the type of diet they were on. Do you think such a thing might be an option for you?
Personally, I think your life might be improved a bit by chucking away your scales.

The link is nothing to be sorry about.... Its useful info, it was just making me feel nervously ill, with its little detail on how it's done and what could go wrong, like a pus filled surgical hole in the abdomen.
I've prescribed an exercise regime, when I recover from the virus more fully and can actually breathe a bit better I'll make an appointment to go over what the sessions will involve, I wanted to try and get weight off and bit more stamina for myself so that I felt ready to go to a gym, but prescribed gym access is the last thing left to try before Gastric Banding and maybe it will work, but if doesn’t then it make have at least increased my fitness to a point where I’m less likely to die under anaesthetic and knife.
I don’t have diabetes by the way. In fact my blood sugar levels and whatever were text book normal.
I have had a rather nasty respiratory virus, hence my loss of sense of smell even when I could actually breathe through the nose, muffled and unbalanced hearing, loss of taste too of course, all that coughing to the point were I thought the only left to cough up was blood and lung. It caused my liver to become inflamed and a bunch of other stuff too.
Had my hair cut, the guy took off a bit more than I might have wanted.

In a way, I'm pleased that your health is concerning you, because it shows a sense of self-preservation I hadn't seen in you before.
I've been prescribed an exercise regime for my ME. It hasn't cured me and I don't always stick to it, but when I do it makes a hell of a difference to my emotional state. Getting outside for a daily walk seems to shrink my problems to a trivial size. I hope your regime has a similar effect on you.
Glad to hear you haven't got diabetes. Hell of a nasty virus, though! I take it you're recovering now?
"Had my hair cut, the guy took off a bit more than I might have wanted."
Yup, they do that. But are you happy with the result, apart from that?

Sooooo relieved that many of your problems came from a virus infection and should be going away soon! I was really worried there!

Well Sleep Apnoea is still a possible problem. And I have a thyroid gland that is right on the threshold of being under active… And I still need to find that dental clinics number and I have to walk into an optician’s… but I am indeed recovering from the virus.

Went back downhill a little on the weekend both mentally and respiratrily...
I don't defintely have Sleep Apnoea... No-one has ever told me I snore. But it does seem to fit in otherways with things.

I make tremendously embarrassing noises in my sleep. They range from, "mmmmmm, ohh yeeahhh baby" to "AAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!"
