Slipping Down the Bowling Lane of Mortality.
Just to clarify, this introduction has absolutely nothing to do with bowling (American or European style) so if you are an avid bowler, I'm sorry to say you will be sadly disappointed with this particular intro.
Okay, now that we've gotten that out of the way, let me introduce myself.
I am from the beautiful central western coast of the United States of America. I am 26 years old, I am married, and I thankfully have only one delightful dual-helix reproduction. Any more than that and I'm afraid I would go quite mad.
I have been seduced by the notion of a Hitchhiker's Guide ever since I read Mr. Adams' books some time ago.
Due to my particular choice in employment, I am required to travel. Unfortunately, travel is unpredictable and is not always to the most interesting of locales. Not long ago, I had the distinct pleasure of sitting idly off the coast of an extremely large desert, thinking how nice it would be to be *on* the coast when I realized that all the people *on* the coast probably would very much like to be elsewhere. Then I realized that their desire to be elsewhere stemmed pretty much directly from the same reason that I was sitting where I was, and suddenly I felt okay sitting where I was. Anyhow, I travel, and I thought, even though I routinely go to distant lands, meet interesting cultures and subsequently kill them, there would be no reason why I couldn't write helpful and entertaining articles about them while they still existed.
By now, I'm sure many of you who read this have guessed upon my particular profession. Some of you have guessed at my particular profession and been correct. Still others out there have guessed at my particular profession, been correct, and furthermore found yourselves quite disgusted with me and what I do and have by this time stopped reading altogether.
Which is a pity, because I was about to talk about bowling.
