Are there many people working there?....must of been nice to see them...or not...lol
Don't blame you regarding humping boxes around...or planting for that matter.
With what they are saying about the weather getting warmer here in uk perhaps you should try and get some stuff that will sell in these times....like maybe outside cool off showers or something....i am sure that if they were attractive enough and not too expensive you would sell plenty.

I think we could have solds hoards of them last weekend..mainly to the STAFF!!
I was told it was 105 degrees in the shop yesterday...in hell!!!
We have 15 staff, not all full time, and several teenagers that work at the weekends. In comparison to "Wyvales" which is a chain store, we are considered small....but we're actually bigger than the CHelmsford Wyvale...and we're an independant too

Nonametraveller Posted Aug 11, 2003
Wyvales as in garden nursery chain store?....so you got any good friends at work?...or just casual working colleagues
105!!!....stuff that....
I was in the middle east one time and we had to manually unload a long shipping container...now something had shunted it when it was either being loaded or unloaded and a lot of very heavy gear was a bit twisted and tangled. Gawd knows how hot it was inside but it was over 100 outside....at a guess i would say maybe 130 inside...anyway, that was obviously too hot so every 15 mins or so i simply had to come out to cool down and drink...to cut a long story short i caught some sort of pneumonia and was f***ed for a couple of weeks nearly....lol...not many people can say they caught pneumonia in over 100 degrees..
Sorry...i digressed totally....i was just reminded of the story...goes to show though that this heat can be very dangerous.

Yep thats the wyvales i'm on about
As for friends, we're all firends at work, but on socialise outside work on special occasions..eg xmas. I have one good friend there Mandy, we work as a team, but dont see each other outside work because our days off don't coincide. You can always find us two chatting away at work and taking the P out of customers..tut tut!! shame on us
OMG....see thats the sort of temperatures we're up against at the mo...its pretty scary stuff, as us Brits aint used to it eh!!
I would'nt mind, but i've moaned like hell about this heat then in the winter i'll moan about that too, as i cant stand the cold. Ive even got my own special heater at work, put in just for me
Blimey!!
Nonametraveller Posted Aug 11, 2003
Thats true about brits...but we are made of stern stuff though. I am into history...especially colonial history and it never ceases to amaze me when i read about what our forefathers got up to...some of them wearing the most ridiculous clothes in the most ridiculous temperatures....especially some of the soldiers in their battle dresses....quite amazing really.
Talking of temperatures someone said recently or i read somewhere that the unions are busy laying down the law as to what an acceptable maximum temp is allowed without air cons...after which it will be down tools and walk out time.
Not much good if you working for an independant though i suppose

Hey!! what a releif times have moved on eh!! Imagine wearing ALL those layers in this heat. And in the not too distant past it was unexceptable for women to show thier legs...All those dam peticoats n corsetts, no wonder they were always fainting Oh and what about the wigs the men wore....can you imagine wearing that on ya head, apart from looking totally stupid!! ROTF

Nonametraveller Posted Aug 11, 2003
Can you imagine...
but what inspires people to wear wigs these days?....i mean what is that??
If you see a baldy walking down the street...you don't point and say "hey look a baldy"...do ya?
But if see a wig flouncing along you actually do don't you?...kind of
So what are these people up to....do they really think they are fooling anyone?
Are they so immersed in their own ego that they fool themselves
Or are they actually exhibitionists looking for attention....lmao
Blimey!!
~:*-Venus-*:~ Posted Aug 11, 2003
Ireckon its an "ego" thing, and lets face it, they must need a quide dog if they think they look good!!
The only cases where its justified, especially in females, is when they've got an illness where they lose all the hair.
Theres a guy that comes in our shop, he's in his 60s and he wears this wig. It does'nt match his real hair colour, and looks like a dead ferret!! Has'nt had it " groomed" since he got it!! ROTF

Venus,
Re post 238, was it magical? surreal?... eventually tantric, transcandental? Have you made it any further? God is a goddess!

a Man from Mars Posted Aug 12, 2003
Jen,
You LIKE to "sleep" alone? Is that a phobia? Have you sought treatment? Hands on! It is more than a mind game....Amen!

Nonametraveller Posted Aug 12, 2003
Morning Jen,
Sleep well?
Mr Mars man....Clearly the lady venus ia not particularly impressed with your semantic ramblings,
it would seem equally clear that you are an educated gentleman,
taking both points into consideration one would assume that your next step would be to act as such and back off.
Blimey!!
Nonametraveller Posted Aug 12, 2003
Yeah i'm cool thanks....has some good sleep. Got plenty to do today so it would suit me fine for it to stay a bit cooler....catch up with you later.
