Your taste in comedians is great!
Have you ever heard of Gallager?.....George Carlin for the 80's!

Ah, Gallager, that lovable prop comic and his wonderful Sledge-O-Matic...
Yes i remember him, but only from comedy specials on television. I liked best his critiques on the english "language", if you can even call it that. He is still quite sucessful in the 90's, if i recall correctly.

I went to see him live a couple of years ago. He signed my shirt(though I can't seem to find it!).....made a side comment to him, and quickly dicovered that was a mistake!!!!.....boy did he let me have it!LOL I couldn't complain...I asked for it! Never try to dual with a pro!
George Carlin is the smoothest, most "thinking" comedian I've ever seen. I could listen to him for hours!(him....or Bill Cosby!)
Back to Gallagher..."Why do they call it a *Hot Water Heater*.....you don't have to heat hot water!"

Akin to the water heater, why is "little" twice as big as "big"?
George Carlin can not only be listened to, he can be thoroughly enjoyed for hours on end. I, being born at the wrong time, have only heard of him through his book, Brain Droppings, and on the internet, where i have downloaded some of his many routines. They are all abjectly hilarious.

He is a bit of a "cult hero" to my generation in the US. His breakthrough routine was "7 Words You Can't Say on Radio". Went into a diatribe on the idiocy of it....true Carlin style!LOL
He had a short lived sitcom......but it just wasn't him. The directors didn't give him the freedom he needed(just my opinion). If they'd let him run like they do Robin Williams, it might have worked!

"Seven words" is one of my favorites!
Out of curiousity, what was the name of that series?

It only lasted for the 13 week run. I rather enjoyed it, myself....but then my taste in entertainment has never seemed to fit the "Nielson Ratings" profile!
