Hi There Number six.
I just came accross your page, reading you like Portmeirion.
I was wondering which way around you found the place. TV Series first or the other way around?
I must agree the place is stange and totaly aplicable for the tv series.

i discovered the place first - I went there when I was on holiday in the area with my parents, and wasn't particularly enthusiastic about the whole thing... until we got inside and it knocked me off my feet! I've been back quite a few times since.
But once I got inside, I came across the 'Prisoner' shop in the village and was intrigued by the stuff I found in there, having been vaguely aware of the series due to it's occasional use as a pop culture reference. I was interested in finding out more, and fortunately Channel Four repeated the series later that year, so I didn't have to wait too long to start trying to work out what it was all about.
How about you?

I have to admit I saw the original series on ITV, On the last episode it thanked the designer of Portmirion for use of the grounds.
I never expected to see the village in real life, untill I was on Holiday in North Wales.
To see how stunning such a small area apeared so large, knocked me out as well. I think I have been there a couple more times since.
I think I have one more ambition that is to stay in the hotel, and be there at night. I can dream.
