Irving Washington - Gone Writing

It was typical '80s schlock. Tom Hanks was playing a guy who'd promised his fiancée that he wouldn't have sex with anyone else at his bachelor party. There was a guy who wanted to marry his fiancée (her father was helping this second guy), who kept trying to kill Hanks, Hanks' friends kept hiring hookers and strippers, there were lots of bare breasts and generally it was a very corny movie.

He was a mercenary that the British Gov't had hired for some fight or other in India or Afganistan or thereabouts... he once served with Rudyard Kipling! But the UK said that they'd paid him too much money, and he wanted to keep it, so he changed his name and moved to the states! I'd tell you what his real name is, but I'd be afraid some gov't official would see it and try to collect with intrest smiley - sadface

Irving Washington - Gone Writing

I have an interesting ancestry... my great great grandfather (my father's mother's father's father) lived in Serbia and used his linguistic knowledge (he spoke 7 languages like he was a native of each) by working as an international spy... they fled Europe before WWI, and his son, living in Nebraska, could skin a cow faster than any man alive... owned a still... killed an ass with on punch... things like that.

Post 37

cool! Well my mother's ancestry has been traced to Queen Isabella I of Spain, the one who helped Columbus, but that's all the interesting things I know of.

Well, I'm afraid I can't quite trace myself to a genuinely famous (and royal) bloodline like that!

-blush- well yes, but at the same time, it did happen 500 years ago, so it's not that important. It's just a piece of trivia i like to throw out.
