The aliens are all around us. They wear suits, sit in cars for hours a day and seem to think that "getting on" is important.

Wear a suit? No. Sit in a car for hours a day? No. Think that 'getting on' is important? No.
None of that fits on me... Does that mean I'm not an alien?

It makes you a less scary alien, at least in my book ,( Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of the Ring, page 105, 3rd paragraph).

Just remembered, the Mekon was Venusian, but you could have seen him on Mars.

No That was what we call subtle irony, tho I feel more like being subtly bronzy as I feel pre Iron Age.
I'm ambivalent about seeing the film. Tho i have no mental pictures of the characters ( except that Hobbits are real and used to live in Hobbit holes by Leeds University), i do know what they don't look like, and I'm afraid that some of the actors in the trailer, especially one actress, look wrong ( tho much improved by the long blonde wig).
Having lived with Lord Of the Rings since the 60s I should know it word for word, but age y'know dims the memory....
