This type of page always bothers me. Writing it combines the stage-fright of revealing yourself (figuratively) to the whole world with the rather sobering thought that not many people will actually notice. Of course, its seems a little pathetic to think the latter, but then it seems a little arrogant to think the former.
Work
Much as I am reluctant to define myself in terms of my work, it does occupy a large chunk of my life. I'm currently working as a programmer / sysadmin in a small department at the University of Strathclyde. Its fun - I have lots of toys to play with and I get to do what I do best, which is important.
Interests
My interests revolve around computers, music, books, philosophy and combinations thereof. I also enjoy football and drinking, but these never seem to sit very well in a list of interests. Perhaps I should pretend to jog and play badminton?
I really should mention taoism here, too. I hesitate because I have a theory that calling yourself a taoist isn't a very taoist thing to do. However, getting worked up about this kind of thing is not normally worth the bother, which is more or less what I meant before I mentioned taoism in the first place.
