So anyway, how is the food coming along? If you don't need help with it I'll just sit here on this stool at the counter and keep you company.

Its 6:00am here and its pitch dark outside. Pierce, I should have said that Gwennie has vomited over your shoe, and your wooden leg. Sorry! How did you lose that leg, btw? And you have a hook for a hand? What happened to your hand? You seem to be careless with your body parts. smiley - winkeye

Breakfast is ready! Well, brunch actually (that's were the alcohol comes in smiley - smiley). We have fresh baked bread, cheese, jam, marmelade, coffee and a light mix of orangejuice and champagne. Followed by the chefs salad and a little cooked ham for the non-vegans. Enjoy!

So do we, sultan, so do we! Well, I can only speak for myself, of course, but with the weather we are having here and in the UK just now... 'nuff said, right?

Oh, mari-rae, I clean forgot your question, sorry! I lost my hand to a giant alligator while hiding in The Everglades in 1654.

The leg was cut of some 200 years later when I lost a bet while drifting around with four others for weeks in a small lifeboat with nothing to eat...

Well, as the sultan wrote: this has turned into a cook book thread, right? smiley - smiley

"There actually is a drinking thread already here @ h2g2...I met some friends there! Pierce, I believe I've introduced you to 'Shirps', that's were she & I met. You gals must meet her, she's a blast!" *wonders just how many drinking threads there MUST be for h2g2*

"That was a close one me pirate...I thought for a moment there you were going to tell the ladies what you can DO with your 'special' leg!" smiley - bigeyes

"In honor of Election Day here in the USA...I would like to make a motion that I be allowed to sleep all day! (it's after 6:30 am & I've just taken my last counseling call for the night, er, the morning)
May I have a second on that motion please? Then if / when there's a second, I'll be asking for a vote. Yea & Nay. With that taken care of, as the sun will soon be up...time to put the flag up!" *Gwennie thinks it's odd behavior for me to fly the flag... guess it's best not to tell about when the fellows ran my bra up the flag pole...of course I wasn't in it at the time...* smiley - winkeye

"The poor Queen Mum...now I have a feeling she'll become hooked on pain killers & she'll spoil that lovely Royal Family!" smiley - tongueout "I can make myself sound just like her!!!! It's great at parties...if we hadn't done the Eastwick Sisters...I was going to dress as the Queen! You should see my Queenly wave!!!"

I second the motion. Have a good sleep. What is so weird about flying the flag? Hey, Sultandude! Bring me back a souvenier, please. A shell from a lovely beach somewhere would be perfect. smiley - smiley

*Studies Pierce.* I had no idea you were so old. Are you an immortal? The thing about losing the bet with your leg was interesting. Did you try to wiggle out of the bet, or were you gallant about it?

It's nice to see that you're still with us Suntandude, and having a wonderful time too. Keep in touch and hugs to Princess Toy. smiley - bigeyes

On the cookery front, yesterday evening, I introduced Mair to a Vindaloo. It was soooo funny and Mair was determined that it wasn't going to beat her although she did manage to drink a litre of orange juice whilst ploughing her way through the dish! smiley - bigeyes

Mari-Rae & Pan let me explain about the flag thing. We don't usually fly flags on our properties here in the UK and were I to do so, it would probably end up in our local paper and I would become known as somewhat eccentric! LOL smiley - tongueout

The usual places for flags to be flown are on Government buildings, Royal estates and offices of large industrial companies.

Pierce, I've heard on the BBC Radio 4 news this morning that your Queen Mum, Ingrid has died. Sorry... smiley - sadface

Thank you, Gwennie. You know, we used to refer to her as The old bat, but I have to admit that she was an alltogether remarkable woman. In principle I am opposed to the idea of monarchy, but there are a lot of things more important to fight and for quite obvious reasons she and the rest of our royal family is very popular. Besides: One should not underestimate the value of national symbols. Ingrid tied the royal family together and renewed the monarchy in an astonishing manner. Four words are said over and over in the obituarys in the news and the papers - and with good reasons: Respect, professionalism, enthusiasm and balance.

When her daughter Queen Margrethe II visited the US years ago our yearly export of cheeses to the US increased with 10 percent - enough to support the royal family for years to come, so financially speaking I don't have problems with monarchy either smiley - smiley

Dannebrog - our national flag - will be seen at half mast throughout the country on both official and a lot of private buildings. It is an old tradition, that is very danish. I don't think we have the same "semireligious" attitude toward the flags as seen in other countrys though. It's just a popular, simple custom.

Hi mari-rae!

You may think of me as old but at least one of my hands and one of my legs are not getting any older smiley - smiley

Of course I didn't try to wiggle out of the bet. A gambling debt is a debt of honour! (The leg made a nice stew, BTW smiley - smiley)
