When did you go? (it wasn't because of the Apres Ski was it?)
I guess for particularly Tall people Skiing could be a bit more daunting - as you'd have further to fall 
.

Only a short while ago, it was dry slope but that was wnough for me!

Was that with Venture Scouts?
You really can't tell what Real Skiing is going to be like from a "dry slope" - check out my Entry on that well known Ski Resort Milton Keynes for a more "realistic" experience! (If you don't like snow or cold at all you are forgiven and may skip this class )

Not a 
so I may be wrong, but I suspect it may - skiing on a "Dry" slope is very similar to skiing on Ice - difficult. I have a bad right Knee - injured in a bizarre bowling accident involving stairs - I don't have much of a problem skiing because of it - SnowBoarding OTOH is a bugger.
