Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~

Stephen "Pastey" Dunkley, one of our italic smiley - hamsters, has written a very funny book called "Endangered Creatures" which it was my pleasure to purchase directly from him - signed by the author! - when we met at the Manchester meet 7 June 2014.
As soon as I had finished reading Terry Pratchett's "Mort" I swallowed "Endangered Creatures" - whole and in one go - and had a great time doing so.
It is quite obvious that Pastey is inspired by Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett (and probably some others as well) and I like that he doesn't try to hide that in any way. Well, how could he and - more to the point - why should he?
He may be inspired but he certainly doesn't plagiarize. His w*rk is very original!
While I am looking forward to his next I hereby recommend a very good read! smiley - smiley

I will probably order the paperback version. My local library does not yet stock this title, so I can't borrow it from them.

The idea of hidden creatures is the basis of the upcoming "Box-Trolls," loosely based on "Here be Monsters."

You can call me TC

If it's available as an e-book, I don't see why I shouldn't give it a try....

After I finish reading my copy, I plan to give it to a library so others can enjoy it. smiley - smiley I hope the library will get the e-book version, but that can take time. I don't want to wait.

You don't need to buy a gadget in order to read a paperback. If the sun is shining, you don't even need electricity in order to see it. smiley - winkeye

I've ordered Pastey's book, along with a couple of Putumayo world music CDs, so as to qualify for free shipping. World Music is my next project. On a cold Winter's day, I can warm up by listening to music from Tahiti, Cuba, Egypt, and other warm spots. smiley - smiley
