Thanks for the birthday wishes. You missed it by just over a month. Not bad for someone I don't really know.

You must have just been sending out the last few celebrational vibes from last month and I must've inadvertently tuned in.

The links are a great idea. I must have a look at this GuideML thing now that I'm able to stay connected for more than a couple of minutes at a time. I had been having a bit of a sulk about being ejected so often but now (or when I've got some spare time, at least) I'll make an effort to make my page more interesting.

When I taught myself GuideML, I found the DON'T PANIC section (in the header) helpfull, as well as the Subeditor's Guide to Approved GuideML, found here:

Though that isn't the only place you can pick up information. Bruce's GuideML clinic is handy as well; it's listed on the front page.

By the way, a link tag looks like this:

On a page with GuideML enabled, the 'Don't Panic' would be highlighted as a link. And if I have the URL right, it would work, too.

Thank you very much for all the helpful hints. I'll nip over to the Subeditor's Guide and Bruce's GuideML clinic and have a peruse through the GuideML instructions. I don't doubt that I'll find things to puzzle over. In the event, I'll come and pester you with my questions and I'll try not to be a pain in the neck.

My time's a bit packed at the moment so this could take a while.
