I'm not dead . . .

Well, I'm not.

Just busy with all that end-of-quarter work that always seems to come up towards the end of the quarter. Probably have more time to be around later in the week.

(I've followed my standard journal template pretty well on this one smiley - winkeye)

Leonids

On at a rather odd hour here for a weeknight (3:00 AM PST) because I stayed up to watch the peak of the Leonid Meteor Shower. Of course, as is often the case around here, we're currently experiencing a storm right now and so the clouds and fog effectively block any attempt at viewing the sky. smiley - cross

Now, normally I'd be waking up in about four hours or so. Yet, I think that, were I to go to bed now, I probably wouldn't be able to drag myself out of bed and into class. So, I'll probably spend the rest night/morning doing homework (and catching up).

I will, with no doubt, be regretting this by the end of tomorrow. smiley - yawn

Still around

Well I'm still around. (Not that the average Researcher would notice if I wasn't smiley - winkeye)

I've been in college for about a month now, and my new course is keeping me plenty busy--certainly moreso than last year's studies. However, I'm really enjoying being back in the natural sciences again, so I can't complain too much.

Anyways, I'm hoping to find more time to visit h2g2 in the next week. For the past week, I've been ill smiley - ill and haven't been up to doing much of anything. As a result, I'm about a week behind in deadlines. So, for this weekend, I'm working to catch up from last week's work, while trying to finish next week's work so as not to fall behind again. smiley - yikes After this, hopefully, I'll have more chance to unwind here at h2g2.

My informal leave from h2g2 hasn't been completely without consequence. smiley - erm It was recently suggested that I turn in my ACE badge--a suggestion I made no objection to; as such, I allowed myself to be resigned from that group and am now only serving as a Guru. Should I find more time to spend at h2g2, it is possible I may ask to be reinstated. I'll have to play that by ear.

Anyways, I'm going to bed now smiley - zzz. I'll try to find more time in the morning to sift through my discussions.

W*rk is a four-letter word

So, I'm back again (how many times have I said that now? smiley - cdouble)

Because classes had ended, I intended to have a great deal of time off this summer to spend on entertaining things such as h2g2. However, within a few weeks of my vacation starting, my former employer decided they needed me to do some work. Originally, I was informed that I would only be needed for a few days--a week at the most. Somehow, I ended up working for the past two months (sometimes near-full-time hours) instead smiley - groan. By now, it feels like my employment has drawn to a close; this, of course, is unsurprising given that my vacation ends in less than two weeks.

So, as I've been working away my vacation, I haven't had the time or energy to get on h2g2 much at all. Hopefully, I'll have regular access from now on.

Hey look, a smiley - towel!

smiley - boing - I don't know when I'd ever use that one in conversation, so I'm using it here.

I have returned . . . sort of

Well, I'm finally done with that whole Keynesian economic business (and thankfully so.) In fact, I'm done with college for this academic year, and am now back home on summer break for the next three months. Due to complications relating to the internet connection here, I probably won't be on much until next Tuesday (then, we're getting high-speed internet access hooked up smiley - biggrin which will be much better than this dial-up modem service smiley - cross).

Until then, I'll probably be able to drop by occasionally to check for any new messages (unfortunately, I don't have the time to trawl through the backlog on some of my conversations or to update my page). I will return again.
