Hello Vicky!
Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-)) Started conversation Jan 9, 2000
Heya!
As vegiman already said, talking to yourself is vital to have fun in the h2g2, and you are a grand master at that, from what I have seen... I thought I'd try your art of talking to someone in the future
Well, how are you?
I now this is not very exciting, but every conversation has got to start somehow, and this phrase happens to be the most popular one.
I'm glad to hear so. I'm fine, too...
You're right, I really haven't heard of Durham, but never mind, you haven't heard of my hometown either, so I won't even bother naming it... If you really want to know, just ask... but I bet you don't.
My name's Paul. Pleased to meet you... I see what you meant when you said that it gets easier once you do it... It's no problem for me now to talk to you... though I don't see you, but I think I know what you'll say.
Well, in my spare time I mainly play the piano and a little bit the guitar... Just like you... So what was this stuff about Romantic Piano Music you mentioned? Perhaps I could help... Just tell me about it, OK?
So, when I'm not playing an instrument, I'm listening to music (check out my homepage to see what kind of music) or fiddling around with my Computer - programming, surfing the net or playing games.
My main hobby is going to school (ha... if this was a hobby... but it isn't, it's just the activity that I do most of the time). I can't say it's very interesting right now, as I know most of the stuff we learn...
Well, I'm sorry that you have to go, but, by a curious coincidence, so have I. I enjoyed talking to you!
If you have any questions or comments, answer this message or post to my forum... I'll come back to you as soon as possible (which is unlikely to be before the next weekend).
So, see you then.
Have a break, have a fish
Paul Prefect,
PP.

Hi!
Perhaps we could start a craze - talking to people in the future - I think it could catch on.
I'm not sure if you can help with the "Romantic Piano Music" thing - unless you happen to know where I can find enough info to put together 2, 4 min presentations on Chopin and Schumann? I'd be very grateful if you could
As for talking to myself, at least this way, when someone walks into the room I don't have to pretend I was talking to the dog - I can just say, "Well, I'm sure someone will read it eventually, then it hasn't all been in vain." So they'll still think I'm a little strange, but whats new?
If you hadn't already guessed I can type the hind legs off a donkey - strange, cos anyone talking to me in person would say "What? She said more than 2 words? Amazing!" I suppose I'm just far more comfortable talking to myself and people in the future, like you.
One more thing, just in order to win a bet with you, where ARE you from...?
bye,
Vicki ( <---I could go really overboard with these things)

Don't worry, I know you're not here yet - I just thought I'd pass some time and annoy you some more.
I've got the Chopin/Schumann thing sorted out - now I just need to start on Mendelssohn, Brahms and Liszt - but they don't have to be done for AGES yet.
I'm a bit stressed out at the moment, but by the time you read this everything'll be fine, I promise, exam results do strangs things to you (like make you write posts that you KNOW no-ones going to read for ages yet just for the hell of it)
Oh well, I'd better go - I've got a Mozart Piano Concerto to practice for tomorrow. That's going to sound dire, cos there's just me on the piano and no-one else to play the reduced orchestral part. I guess I could just sit and twiddle my thumbs during ?bars rest...

Hello again!
About the craze... you think we could start it... We already have, haven't we? Though I'm more crazy than you, I can write longer chunks of text (I don't know how to call them, thís is no letter, no article, no book, no communicé, no memo... If you can, come up with a word for it, ok?).
Now for your romantic music stuff... Of course I can help you! I can help anybody (I know I'm mad, I just said so, see above ). Check out these links:
http://www.geopages.com/Vienna/Strasse/7645/original/index.html
and go to the composers section
http://www.search-beat.com/romantic.htm
... and if you still haven't all the information you need:
http://classicalmus.interspeed.net/romantic.html
If you don't find what you're looking for here, you probably want to know the Question of Life, the Universe and Everything.
By the way... which is this Mozart concerto you're playing? I haven't played a concerto by Mozart... Rather by Bach... and there is no rest several bars long
Though I know how you feel... I play a Prélude by Claude Debussy for four hands with my sister. She plays the intro, and I'm sitting there doing nothing for 8 bars (It's a slow piece, 8 bars are nearly 30 seconds!).
Sorry for the delay in my explanations (if you have noticed it, which I doubt, because you'r ein the future), but I've been to your homepage and your articles for the guide, and I had to read the forums and post a (--- insert the unknown word here ---) here and there...
Where was I? Ah yes... Well, check out the links, I hope they help you...
About that bet you want to win so badly... I tell you the name of the town were I was born and you tell me if you have ever heard of it, and if yes, whereabouts it is, ok? It is: "Sofia"! Guess I won the bet
Well, I guess I've annoyed you enough for one day... expect more tomorrow, and:
(you know what I mean )
See ya!

.......you ready for this?
Don't ever challange me to write longer chunks of text than you unless you want to read a lot of pointless drivel and contradictions (forgot the word there for a moment)
Hang on, I'm on the hop, my parents just walked in and they just *love* to be nosy, I don't think they like me being here as much as am - anyway (what did I tell you about my rambling???)
Thanks a billion for the links,, I'll check them out as soon as I've stopped chasing you all over this place. Seriously, one minute I find a post from you in one place, leave one for you, go somewhere else, find another one from you there, leave another message for you, go somewhere else...you get the picture...you're everywhere and I'm trying to keep up with you - I just can't do it - you're too fast!!!
"Sofia", well, I'll have to give up - my geography was never any good and you could be anywhere in the world. Although, the only country I know of where school starts at 7:15 is Germany - although I really only know that because I took GCSE German...
...you're going to torture me now by not telling me where it is, aren't you? I can tell, you're going to be cruel and keep me guessing...
...I'm going to go round the bend now just trying to figure it out - there'll be maps scattered everywhere before you know it...
Move on, clam down...
The Mozart Concerto's the one in A maj.
What a change of tune - before you know it I've stopped going round the bend and come out with "the Mozart concerto's the one in A maj" I've almost surprised myself with that one. In the first movement, the entire exposition section is played by the orchestra before the piano joins in, playing the exposition for a second time - that's a lot of bars rest. Hang on, I'll go count them for you, otherwise I'll never hear the end of it...66 bars - I told you it was a lot now didn't I...
Hmm, I'm taking too long writing this, and by now you've probably run off somewhere else...
See you around,
Vicki
PS. I've just previewed this and it looks longer than yours, so does this mean that I can write longer chunks of text? Please let me win something...
PS - again - I've always wanted to know the Ultimat Question!
Hello Vicky!
Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-)) Posted Jan 15, 2000
You're right, I'll keep you guessing...
but...
I'M THE ONE WHO CAN WRITE LONGER CHUNKS OF TEXT!!!
(what was the word? How about a contest for a name for THIS?)
Well, but right now, my Dad needs the computer... You know, I've been online for 8 hours now... So I'll come back tomorrow and show you what a REALLY LONG (--- insert word here ---) is!
I promise!
See you then!
PP
PS: Are you male or female? I saw that Joanna called you "her", but I always thought you were male don't be wild at me ok?
Hello Vicky!
Eomando (it is it is it is 2 years now!!! 8-) ) Posted Jan 15, 2000
Female! Definately female! Sorry if I came off that way - what made you think that, ermm, not sure if I want you to answer that...
Eeeeeeee - how could you think that - how many lad's do you know who are called "Vicki" - no, don't answer that one either!
I'll forgive you...but only if you tell me where "Sofia" is...

[A warbling tremolo and a green glow fade into existence. A moment later, YK fades into the green glow. He is wearing his usual blue jeans, red shirt, Poké Balls at his belt, and a backpack with four pockets. A strange device is strapped to his wrist where a watch would normally be. A moment after YK fades in, the warbling tremolo and the green aura fade out.]

Ok, ok, ok, ok, ok...what was I saying?
I might have tracked you down. Will you tell me if I'm right?
Don't laugh if I'm wrong, please...
Are you in Sofia, Bulgaria?
Do I win, do I, do I, huh?
Pleeeeeeeeeeease?
Hello Vicky!
Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Jan 16, 2000
I frankly don't know and do wonder if I want to.
But /I'm/ in New Hampshire...
Hello Vicky!
Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-)) Posted Jan 16, 2000
Hey again, Vicki!
First of all, I'm sorry for mistaking you for male , but I know what made me do it... You know, I'm having Spanish lessons at school, and "Eomando" sounds like a very typical Spanish male name... As for the Vicki business, I know 2 or 3 Victors who are called "Vicki".
Well, anyway, I'm glad that's cleared up.
And now for something completely different ...
"Sofia"... Well, you're right and then again, you're not. You suppose I'm in Sofia, Bulgaria... Well, I'm not there at the moment, but I was born there... As you already guessed earlier, Germany is the only country where School starts at 7:15 a.m. I've been here in Germany for some 8 years now...
So I guess yes, you win our little bet... You guessed both where I was born and where I go to school... Choose your reward
Well, I guess now I'll go and see what you have posted while I was away... I'll be right back

Oh, and Eo? May I please take a Personality Imprint? I won't take much, I'll only take the bit that makes you the same as all other human females. I need it for a . . . project I'm working on.
