How do I get people added to the noesis subs forum?

Normally we'd ask Asteroid lil, but she is unavailable for the time being. I'll see if I can find out who else has this permission ability.
I turned this task down as it can be tricky, it's been far too easy to mess up.

Because we need to set up HonestIago, Recumbentman, Mina and Matt with access to it.

I believe that the Chief Mod has the access you need...
I wouldn't know though. I'm a mammoth.

That's what I have just been told too, Little Mammoth, but of course there is a time difference, so we will have to wait until this evening to find out if that is the situation or not.
Thanks!

Hi, can you check with recumbentman that he can see the Editorial volunteers' forum, as PC has added him?
He's not on my friend's list.
I can't remember whether it was you or I that finally said we'd remind the others to sign up for Noesis.

I think I saw a mention somewhere from Bernadette that she wasn't able to see the Subs Noesis forum either. I'll attend to that next.
I seem to have spent all morning doing a task that should perhaps have taken an hour at most - even allowing for reading the Entries and PR threads. This was 'accepting the Scouts recommendations' - sending the emails to all concerned is very fiddly - lots of copying pasting - deleting extra text etc from the templates that were kindly made.
Also having to go and find each individual author whose email address we then have to find - paste their user number into the special tool we have, and then copy and paste that back again into the webmail. It's like a treasure hunt, with lots of stages.
If there is an interruption, the webmail closes you out and you have to start again - honestly, I feel as if the whole morning has been wasted doing this lowgrade task - but it is essential to keep the Scout picks taken up promptly.
When this is automated, this time will be much better spent on something else - writing even? Subbing more likely. But right now I am and with hardly any visible stuff to show for it.
Sorry this seems like a moan - but I am finding it frustrating to be held up by lack of technology.

Oh yes, I forgot the bit where you have to add the thread in Noesis to request an illustration - I did that bit too.
Should I be adding this information to the Artists spreadsheet in googledocs?

I spent an hour trying to document a bug in the Pliny system. I was hampered by the fact that I was trying to record the bug in an entry in the Pliny system (because Pastey doesn't want a list of the bugs published on the live h2g2 system) and I couldn't describe the bug because of the bug. But I got it done eventually. If Pastey can fix that, then we might even be able to edit entries in the new system.

Mikeo has requested a couple of Entries to sub, over in the Noesis forum, just in case you missed his message over there.

Thanks, Lanza, for doing that. I didn't have a chance this morning.

To pay you back, I've tweaked the link list at the top of the Isaac Newton entries. They still need a bit more tweaking, the name of the entry itself should be just plain text in the list rather than being a link to itself.

Hi, just to let you know that I have returned the Ceramic Glazes Entry and also subbed Bujinkan and the Ear Nose and Throat one of Tufty's.
I've taken the Juggling Balls Entry as well - I needed a break from doing other things on h2g2, so I chose some easy to sub Entries.

You'll have to decide what to do about the pictures in that one.
