Gosh! very glad to hear it, I'd not noticed. < relieved > I've just been doing Peer Review stuff etc and that was all in order.

Thanks for explaining that your email is borked, I did wonder. I hope you get it fixed soon.

oops, sorry about that. I thought I had changed accounts.

I've asked Pastey to make it more obvious as to which account I am using when replying. I like Pliny, and am using it for Lanzababy and Brunel for editing. It's not foolproof though, and that's at least the third time I've screwed up.

I use Internet Explorer for the Guide Editor account, and Mozilla for Gnomon. It's usually obvious enough which is which.

Hi Lanza. Thanks for all the work you've done on the Front Page! Both Front Pages look great.smiley - smiley

I'm sorry you've had to do it for the last few weeks, but there just always seems to be something happening these days. Last night was our last concert of the season - we sang songs about the seasons, with such numbers as "Summertime", and "Autumn Leaves" which you may know, and "A May Magnificat" (Mathias) and "Yver vous n'ĂȘtes qu'un villain" (Debussy), which you almost certainly don't. There was a good audience of about 50 people, and we had a glass of wine afterwards for choir and audience.

I glanced at the e-mail yesterday and saw some comments from you on the process, but I didn't have time to address them. I'll look at them this evening.

Hi Lanza. Hope everything is OK with you at home.

Can you let me know how the Isaac Newton project is progressing? Is it at a stage where I can take it over and do final polishing on it?

Is the yikes button out of order at the moment? I tried to refer a posting to the moderators, and it kept refusing to accept my submission because I hadn't provided a reason I thought the post should be referred to the moderators. But I had provided a reason.

Hi Lanza. I'm sub-editing Bluebottle's project on UK National Cycle Route 23, and I would some editorial advice on one section.

In the entry A86808522, Bluebottle says:

"A short distance along Wales Street, you will pass the First In Last Out, or FILO pub. This is a Grade II Listed building. In 2011 the Channel 5 television programme The Hotel Inspector declared this 'The worst hotel in England', although improvements were made by the end of the episode."

Bob Stafford has queried whether we should report about the worst hotel in England:

"Is this making a comment that could have an effect on someone's business and may cause some loss of trade?"

A good question.

I'd play safe, I think we could remove the value judgement. This Entry is going to be around for a long while and standards in Hotels go up and down very quickly.

How about "...This is a Grade II Listed building. It was featured in the 2011 the Channel 5 television programme The Hotel Inspector."

I am really thankful for SashaQ's help in proofreading for that project.

Bluebottle's project "UK National Cycle Route 23" is now ready for publication.

The project page is at A86725182. The six entries in the project are listed there. The entries are all ready to, as far as I can tell. All you have to do is change them to Edited and date them.

I used to always ensure that one of the three Guide Eds read every single entry before it hit the Front Page; I don't know if you still do this.

The picture for the front page has already been uploaded by Bluebottle at UK_National_Cycle_Network_fp.jpg

I've also posted this message to h5ringer.

Hi, I'll make certain that this is finalised. I'd already got it queued up with a date to make it live and featured on 30th May.

Thanks, as ever, for your help

I'm scanning all the Edited Entries to make sure they display in Pliny. (Some entries have invalid GuideMl which causes an error when you look at them in Pliny).

I came across the Staffordshire Oatcake entry and notice that it has three pictures provided by you, but two of them are the same. Did you have a third picture which got mislaid, or was it just intended to be two pictures?

Hi, thanks for noticing - not sure what happened there, but there was a third that I sent to the Artists. A close up. If I can find it, I'll swap them round. If it's no longer in existence, I'll remove the duplicated one.
