How polite you are, youngling!!
Just go fer it and I will be thinking of you

van-smeiter Posted Feb 21, 2007
Youngling! I like that
I do need to be brave because, although I'm tempted to wait 3 or 4 weeks til I see her, I know I won't say some of the stuff I want to say.
In fact, I think I'll get writing now.
Ooh, must also mention that I saw an incredibly gorgeous puppy t'other day. I was at the cash-point in the village and this tiny little black thing came scampering up and sniffed my shoes. I couldn't see an owner but, when I walked back past a few minutes later, someone was cudddling it so it was at least safe. Some doggies are lovely and don't make me wanna

See there you go, never say never
Only do the letter thing when you are in the mood, but you really need to know for your peace of mind...
These things really have such an impact on your whole life!!
I really liked this boy at school, and we were like best buds, when I realised I REALLY liked him.
I confided in a girl friend, and she told him!!
He did n't talk to me for over a year at College, my first heartbreak
My friend saw him on a train to London a couple of years ago, and he was bald as a bowling ball!!
Karma is a bit bloody slow sometimes!!
I always think of that bit in the sunscreen song, where he says dont be reckless with peoples hearts...
You are a sweetie, just go with your feelings, tell it like it is, and go for it!!

tibbysoo1 Posted Feb 23, 2007
That must be a load off!!
You 've done the hard bit of putting how you feel onto a piece of paper, but I know its the waiting thats a killer
The trouble is, you could have avoided doing anything, but the anguish would have been crushing...
By being very brave and earnest, it also shows this lady of yours the depth of your feelings
When you post the letter, stand still and stare at it infusing it with all you wish for, shake it warmly by the throat, and bung it in!!
I only wish I could wave a magic wand...
But lil buddy I am very proud that you have done this, it takes enormous guts to face up to such a thing!!
The Sunscreen song was by Baz Luhrmann of Moulin Rouge and Strictly Ballroom fame, have a listen if you can find it, I think it came out when I was travelling in the 90s?
Power to you bud, be thinkin of you
Take care

I know the one, haven't heard it for ages, but am fond of it. I think I was thinking of Sunscream or somesuch, a group.
It is good to have written it. My bro texted earlier and said he was having a 'Rose' moment (as in Doctor Who). In the last ep with Christopher Eccleston, when he's sent her back to earth, she says to Mickey about how she has to do *something* and that the Doctor had shown her a different way of life, where you don't just accept things, you say "no" and do something to change things (or words to that effect). I need to be more like that but I find it hard to know *what* to do.
I was going to post the letter on my way back from work but she texted me just before I left; got into my head. I started to feel selfish for putting my thoughts onto her when I know she's got a lot to deal with a ce moment. It's stupid, I know, and it's like, I kinda admire her for ditching me because I think she did it because of her degree. I have always admired her ambition. I should be saying this to her, shouldn't I?!
I *will* post that letter but I am tempted to write it again, add some stuff. Suppose if I just post it, I won't have the opportunity so no point thinkin about it. Promise to do what you suggest when I do post it. thank you for listening to me
I really do want to talk about other stuff so I'm sorry to be so 'one-track'.

Rose moment, have to remember that one...wah>
You sound like a bundle of nerves, and fancy getting a text just before the decisive moment!!
I am not the least bit religious, except perhaps a bit of Jedi, but you begin to wonder about such stuff....
You can always develop what you want to say when you have some sort of reply.
There is nothing wrong with ambition, but it can make you blinkered, and in the beauty of hindsight have loads of regret...
Thought of you as I am off to get my nipper some Dr Who pjs, good old Tesco super monopoly conglomerate.
He wants K9 but will settle with Cybermen..
Here, dont dis yerself, as you might find that something that inspires you to do something fantastic with YOUR career.
Me, I'm 42 and thinking about an art degree in sept, so there you go, out do me dood!!
You can talk about anything you want, have you seen my home post?
Take care and try to fret not!!

When I *finally* got an employee's attention in PC world, I discovered that the comp I'd chosen (it did what I want and was within price range) was out of stock Back to the drawing board!
I pushed girlie and, apparently, "my ideas [in the letter] were interesting and need lots of thinking about." That's a far better response than I expected so I'm going to give her some space (despite the fact that it pains me not to text &c.) Whatever it is she thinks about, we should see each other again in two weeks' time and I am now prepared to say good bye (if, & I hope it ain't, necessary)
Hope you're keepin well. Thought of you t'other mornin as I woke from a dream where I'd had to look after a little dog and it kept biting my big toe- but I didn't care! Have also had to confront a lively boxer dog in the churchyard near work at lunchtimes. Sure he/she is friendly enough but I still get the willies.
Thanku for good vibes, it means a lot

Anytime dude
I dreamt that you told me on here that it did n't matter anymore as there was someone else, you knew, but only just thought of her in that way.
Freakily, I did train to be a primary teacher, a while back and I was teaching you three...
You had school uniforms with those posh straw hats!!
You were naughty and would not concentrate, so I made you sharpen all the pencils!!
And I don't even like cheese....
The Lovelorn
van-smeiter Posted Mar 7, 2007
Hmmm, interesting. By the by, I'm rather fond of sharpening pencils so it probably wouldn't be much of a punishment. I wonder who the third person was? I know that you don't know me (as such) and dreams don't necessarily mean anything, but that has got me thinkin (can't find a smiley for scratchin me head!)
I haven't dreamt much lately as my sleeping has been so random. I should be asleep now. There are several reasons why I don't sleep well but the main one is when I haven't heard from her . It is so daft, so pointless and so not worth talking about but...
Sorry.
Would you go back to primary teaching? It sounds like a rewarding job but is the reality different from the concept? I've always wanted to teach but I don't think I'd have the patience. I'm a patient person but it frustrates me when someone can't understand. Having said that, I've never been trained to teach. It seems to me that you have a hellava lot to offer this world so, when the time's right, you get out there and do your thang. And don't underestimate what you've done for your kids. Loads of mums seem to think that, when their kids have grown up, their job is done but a) a mum is *always* a mum and b) think of it like a fixed term contract. Footballers have short careers and then they do other things; why should mums be any different?
Sorry if I'm being too personal but I'd like to be able to encourage you like you've encouraged me
btw I do like cheese. Take good care

You are sooo sweet!!
Its been a really nice thing to chat to you, and if its been any help to offload to an oldie, then thats great!!
You have more confidence than you give your self credit for and a very wise head...
I love being a mum, and hope my two don't suffer from not having their dad around.
He is in Australia, with his new family, and like many others, prefers to forget about the first one
I did get cross at the news that single mums are being picked on againSounds so bad but he was really lovely when we got married, or was it that I really am rubbish at reading people?
Sounds much more positive with yer girlie, which gladdens my heart, if only because it means so much to you
Come on woman, realise how lucky you are and get on with it!!
Cheese and garlic may be the food of the devil, but I do buy and prepare both for my spawn, so I guess thats real mummy love!!
Bet your mum loves you!!
If not I will adopt you!!
Teaching used to be great, and I chat to a lovely music one on here called ditz, who you may have met. The professional jealousy, problems with discipline did my head in, but I still go in and help 3 days a week, and I'm a Governor (Not of a female prison...) at two schools.
I think its something in you, and you seem to have it too.
I'm reading with my little group this avo, all sorts whos folks don't read with them
Going to do the Fine Art, and I know a little bit of how you've felt lately, as it was sooo scary to put that letter in the post!!
Take care lovely one
You can avoid it but in the end it sucks you in... Teaching that is!!
What would you teach, van the man??
Key: Complain about this post
