Don't blame you... airports are a bit noisy for my tastes...
Hopefully I'll be back in Nottingham next week, if they've managed to find me a job yet (I've joined a temping agency). Otherwise I'll probably go and stay with my girlfriend in London. Just been out in town tonight (my birthday today!!) seeing some friends I haven't seen for a long time... nice.
Talk to you soon,
S

Happy Birthday!!!
I'm deeeply suspicious of temping agencies... but there you go...

I don't blame you. They still haven't found me a job, but luckily my parents will employ me if necessary. Did I catch something about an interview...? If you've had it, how did it go? if not, good luck!

I know, well really.
How's your jobhunt going, if at all? Its irritating. my mother just thought of a friend she could ask about a job for me, but they've already hired some students... oh well... maybe next vac....

Temping agency in Nottingham still being crap at finding me a job! I'm working for my parents' company at the moment doing the odd typing thing but I still need to get something in Nottingham so I can move into my house.
Going out into town tonight to have some fun at the local 70s club. Honest.

All my mates seem to have gone on holiday at the same time... I dunno, how can Manchester compare to flying to Copenhagen for a few days!! I guess I'll have to suspend the clubbing 'till they get back...
I'd consider trying to get a job in Durham. But then again I think the probability is even smaller there than in Manchester

Sorry it's taken a while for me to reply - I've been in London with Becky again!
Didn't go clubbing in the end - I really couldn't be bothered. Not being a club person, I didn't really want to go anyway and in the end I decided it was too much hassle.
Hey, if I can find a job in Halifax, you can find one in Manchester!

I have the feeling I'd be more successful if I put in a little more effort.. I'm going to Scotland for the weekend, though, to the researchers do up there, so that should be fun.

Sabre Posted Aug 6, 2000
I hope you had a good time in Scotland... I've spend the weekend in Cumbria with my Gran
Good luck job hunting.

I had a great time... and despite the fact that the pub we went to was doing doubles for only 20p extra, didn't wake up with a hangover...

Sabre Posted Aug 16, 2000
Sorry I haven't replied for a bit... been busy working for my parents and seeing my girlfriend...
Sounds like you had a great time in Scotland. Good for you - and well done for not getting a hangover (though having said that, I never get them!)

I don't usually get hungover- I normally sleep too late to notice the effects if there are any - but then again I don't make a habit of drinking that much! And EV was definitely feeling the worse for wear...
I've not been busy at all... although I did go to a surprise party for a uni friend of mine - the look on his face when he saw us all was priceless!

I've never had a hangover... or a headache... lucky me!
Going off to Shropshire with Becky next weekend, which will be nice. I was going to go to the test match with my grandad on Sunday (cricket's not really my thing, but my dad got tickets)... unfortunately the game ended today! C'est la vie.

I couldn't believe the rate with which wickets were falling...
My family's quite into cricket, I went to see the first day of the test at Old Trafford... I've never been like as much into it as my mum, but I do like it, and despite the rain it was such good fun!
YCCC must be mad though - they'll have to give soooo much money back...

A lot of people don't like cricket cos it doesn't have much action... but it does, of course. It's just that you have to wait quite a while between the action sections!

I think one learns to like cricket for its intricacies. Like getting the ball to swing... all those fielding positions, especially Third Man and Silly mid on... and the statistics too... and then, when all the conditions get to gether.. voila! the West Indies are all out for 61!
