Ok you may already now I didn't vote for him. I also haven't plotted against him.

In fact TBH all my public comments since he took over have been nothing but complimentary but ho hum here we go again. Tales of intrigue, back stabbing, plots et al, and yet again I'm in a position of trying to find someone I can trust to take the party onwards.

which is a pity, because I'd love to be able to say "I knew you when..."

srsly, I don't know why he got chosen in the first place. I'm not a big expert or anything, and I don't like to judge on looks, but he did seem old for his age, which was already older than his competitors in other parties...

When did age become a problem for political party leaders? Didn't it used to be seen as experience?

Same age as Paul McCartney and Harrison Ford.

The reason's I didn't vote for him 22 months ago were not ageist. I just didn't see him as a visionary, someone with charisma and able to engage the public which is something I would expect from a party leader in this day and age.

Ming is very good with party die hards but less capable of getting that across to the public. I'd seen two of the three candidates in action on the doorsteps so was passing my vote on experience garnered. He age shouldn't and didn't stand against him.

However, at the time many people in the party I think were looking ofr a steadying hand, when just the opposite with Paddy and then Charles is what made us relevant to the populace at large in the first place. Both of the previous leaders were prepared to take risks and be bold in how they got the party's message across, I think we need someone like that again.

Someone like Charles Kennedy. Say, for example, just off the top of my head..... Charles Kennedy!

Now I'm left with the comments made by the person I did want to support last time, and I'm going to have to guage them against what he is liable to say this time. The man I supported last time is not standing.

There is possibly an outsider who may just be able to gel more of the left/social side of the party and keep them together without an implosion over his sexual history. So I'm rattling off another email now.
