My latest rant to the local press. Never thought I'd be able to quote Ken Livingstone on this subject though to defend the point of view I hold. But there you go.

Just passing idly through (not sure how I got here, but I have hiked absent-mindedly through a few h2g2 pages on the way )
Stopped to post, after reading the above letter.
Shock of remembering that 'full bus' situation brought me down to earth with a bump. I had a sort of opposite problem. Trying to get a bus, 2 stops before the centre, to get out to work on the other side of town, whilst the bus was filled with people who could get any number of busses into town but always filled the one I needed to go to work I could rant about it for the full 40 minutes to myself until the next bus arrived, remarkably good for the 20 minute timetable.
Naturally I am docked wages for the lateness at work, (also meaning I have to be pleasant to the lazy **** who's job I did aswell as my own) and I have to stay late to then wait only an hour to get home, but it did avoid the traffic (everybody else being at home having tea) and since the direct bus stopped at 6.40pm then having to get 2-3 busses was only a minor inconvenience for a young(ish) woman standing alone at a bus stop on a dark night.
It was the busses that pushed me over the edge in the end...
I have a bee in my bonnet about it.
Anyway, I shall slink off again having exploded on your thread

Unfortunately I don't have that problem to and fro work. But try planning an itinerary on a Sunday...!
