But I believe in manners and to me! "butting in" on a one to one here, is like shoving in on a conversation with someone local/in town etc etc(if you follow me ?)

Yeah, but see, the problem is that I don't think any other social website ever had that 'rule'. So lots of people don't know it if they don't know about the 'old days'. I can respect the idea that people wanted to have one-on-one convos. But I don't think anybody ever explained it anywhere. Not saying it's bad - just that some people don't know.

Amazing good news today!

The Onion (the satirical newspaper) has bought Alex Jones's 'InfoWars' at auction!

In case you don't know - and why would you? - Alex Jones is a hateful radio/podcast guy who spread conspiracy theories. He claimed the parents of the children killed in a mass shooting at an elementary school years ago were FAKING it. They sued him and finally won. He owes them so much money he had to sell his business.

The Onion got together with the parents and arranged to buy it - so they can make sure he doesn't get it back.

The jokes are great.

Yes! The news is delightful - and means all the 'regular' news outlets had to read The Onion's press releases ALL DAY. And The Onion writes stuff like 'we have 4.3 trillion readers'...

Also, they own his desk, his 'intellectual property', and the warehouse full of bogus vitamin supplements he sold on his show. They were threatening to distill them all into one giant pill and feed it to 'a certain CEO'. (Probably Musk.)

I'm NOT sure ? but I "think ?" I saw something that "he'll" try and "open up again" somewhere else "on the net" ???

This was obviously his plan - but if they own his shtick they may be able to make that more difficult. (Also, it may not work.) That sort of happened to Bill O'Reilly, whom nobody misses, not even his former fans.

The problem with "his type" with the advent of the internetthere's "more Ron's" who get drawn into that hype (open category)

Yep. I'm thinking of writing a history of the decline of western civilisation - and it's going to start with talk radio and cable tv.
